Review: Nespresso Essenza Espresso Maker

With everyone trying to save money these days, buying a cup of coffee on the way to work may be one of the first things to go. Making your own espresso at home will save you time and money. The Nespresso Essenza is a great product if you are looking to brew your own espresso. It costs about $230, which might seem expensive, but if you consider that a cup from Starbucks is about $4 this product will pay for itself in a couple months.

The Nespresso Essenza is an automatic single-serving espresso maker. The machine has a 19 bar high pressure pump which is strong enough to make great espresso. It is also able to make that crema on top that you would get from a café.

The only problem I have with this product is that it can only be used with Nespresso premium coffee capsules. These capsules can only be purchased online or on the phone which can be a pain when you just want to pick some up at the store. However, they do arrive in about two days so you do not have to wait long if you forget to reorder before you run out. The capsules work out to costing about 50 cents to make an eight ounce cup. You have to buy at least 50 at a time. I like my coffee strong and usually purchase the Ristreto and Arpeggio blend. There is a huge selection of flavors and strengths and it comes in decaf as well.

I really like how simple this product is to use. You simply fill the canister with water and add a capsule and the machine does all the work. The water tank is removable which makes it really easy fill and clean. The capsules do not make a mess either so there is really no work associated with using this espresso maker. It is nice to be able to quickly and easily make a cup of coffee whenever I want one without having to leave my house.

I have been using my Nespresso Essenza for about a year now. It still works perfectly and I have not had any problems with it. The machine is attractive so I am comfortable leaving it out on my kitchen counter. The sleek, black design matches the rest of the appliances in my kitchen. I am very satisfied with this purchase and the money it has saved me over the past year.
