I work about 30 miles from the nearest town. There is only one major cell phone company offering service there, and I did not want to go into another contract deal. Net 10 offers different calling plans, all costing 10 cents a minutes. This probably seems a bit high, but it is worth it for peace of mind. The phone does have service in the area where I work. in addition, I live in a small rural county, 35 miles from Jacksonville. The north part of our county, Baker has no cell phone service. We were driving through that part of the county the other day, and low and behold, we had cell phone service except for a two mile area. For a couple more miles, we only had one bar, but I tried using the phone, and the signal was clear. here is how their plan works.
You purchase a bundle of minutes. You can purchase $10 which buys you 100 minutes and activates your phone for two weeks. You can purchase $20 which buys you 200 minutes and activates your phone for a month. Or you can opt for my plan, which is $30 and activates your phone for two months. The unique thing about Net 10 is that you only pay ten cents as minute, as the name implies. Text message cost five cents. So far, I have found no hidden charges.
You can opt to buy minutes one of three ways. You can either purchase online, by calling direct, or by using your cell phone. Although I have not yet taken advantage of it, I have been offered free minutes twice, if Ioad my phone with minutes by a certain date. The last offer, texted to my cell phone was for an additional 50 minutes. However that does not extend the time of the contract it merely give you more minutes.
I have had clear coverage and no problems with service. As of yet, I haven't used the operator so have no idea what fees are. I did call the operator once about a number that wouldn't go through and she was very polite. She stated there was no charge for operator service
There are a couple of neat features with the phone. Although the phone is very basic, you can check your minutes and contract date via the key pad. Perhaps the nicest feature is a free game of Sudoku, with levels from easy, to medium, to hard. That may not excite some people, but if you are an avid Sudoku fan, it will.
If you do not want to go into a contract for a phone, or need an emergency cell phone, which my is, I would suggest getting a contract with Net 10. So far I have been very satisfied with my service.

Post a CommentHey man since i switched to Net10 my reception is clearer, my call costs have dropped and for the ist time in a long while I haven't been 'Cellphone frustrated' Do yourself a favour dudes and call them when you need a new phone
I hate this company!! They STOLE my daughters $50 birthday money and then cancelled my phone number when we tried to redeem the airtime. NO REFUNDS EVER or so they say.....so I went out and spent ANOTHER $50 on www.net10sux.com !
Do you have a horror story involving this company? I WANT TO HEAR IT!! email me at admin@net10sux.com and tell me your story and I will post it on my website for all the world to see!
This was a very informative article. I've found that the ability to just cut off the service a luxury that you simply do not have with the major carriers. I guess that's the best part of having a pre-paid service. You really have some flexibility month to month. If you want less you can easily change that and if you want more obviously it works the same way. I would only have to say I wish they had more of a phone selection, but as I've been griping they have been adding new smart phones to their line-up. In particular, I'm excited about the LG900. Still, I hope they expand and add even more. Otherwise, the service is spot on and great!
oh yeah net10 is def the best type of phone out there. the amount of money you will be saving is just out of this world. I can't imagine ever ever ever having another type of cell phone. I dont have any type of contracts or people down my throat with unreal deals and just trying to get more money out of me.
I spent 45 bucks and was on the phone all the time. Net10 is great
While I was once a huge cell user, over time I've dropped off and brought my minutes down. That was the reason why I decided to leave AT&T for a company that was better suited to my needs - Net10 was the prefect option. I'm saving more than $70 a month and I have dependable coverage on a TMobile powered network without having to worry about a contract. The selection of phones is the only kind of negative as its limited, but super affordable and you change whenever you like. With calls priced .10 a minute and .03 a text, you really can't be beat it.
I have had net10 for over 1 year and have saved over $1000. I'm a traveling businessman and im required to do allot of calling and texting as I travel. Net10 is great with signal almost everywhere. It's also nice to have the rate fixed no matter where I am.
I am one that has recently swtiched to net10 and really could be happier. Not only am i saving money monthly but the 300 minutes and 2 months free they give to start out was a pleasent surprise. I got no complaints.
Net10 is a wonderful service and has saved my family a great amount since we switched over to it a few months ago. We pay just 10 cents per minute so its a great low price to stay connected with each other. I am a proud happy customer of Net10 and reccommend it to everyone trying to save money and have a great deal as well :)
net10 really has grown my business, i have been able to get company phones for my employees and they can get more minutes if they use their monthly allowance. Phones are good quality and reliable, perfect for people who need a good old cell phone that just works. Im so impressed with everything, from the long distance calling to the diversity of the minutes they offer, they really have made an A class package!
After being on contract for some time, I made the leap and changed to Net10 Prepaid. It is amazing how much less I am paying Every month now for almost exactly the same thing. The deal is great $30 for a phone and 300 minutes to start. The calling rate is so reasonable at only 10 cents per minute that I can use the phone when ever I need it. Ive heard that some of the phones work better in certain areas than others. This is because net10 uses the other companies towers to get a very wide coverage area. When you buy the phone check the barcode for the dominent carrier in that ares. The reviews have recently listed net10 as the number one prepaid provider for customer satisfaction. I personally found customer service polite and helpful. You cant realy blame them for not being able to help with expired minutes. When you join Net10 you are aware of the window period so letting it expire would be your own doing. In terms of a prepaid provider I derfinatly reat them as my top. There are no b
