Review: Neutrogena Make Up Remover Towelettes

Katie
Removing your make-up before going to sleep is very important as many make-ups can leave your pores clogged, thus resulting in flare-ups and aggravation (i.e. pimples). Even when you wear a make-up that's pure, like Bare Minerals, you should take the extra few minutes to wash the day off your face before hitting the sack. If you're anything like me, you practically fall into bed each night after yet another busy day so finding a great product that shaves valuable time off your night time routine is essential.

Neutrogena's Night Calming Make Up Remover Towelettes are a great solution to the traditional soap and water route. They not only remove all traces of make-up, including mascara but they also smell great, like lavender and vanilla.

To start, use one corner of the towelette for each of your eyes, being sure to wipe from the crease outwards, removing all traces of liner, shadow and mascara completely. Next, using another, clean section of the towelette, start at your forehead near the hairline and work your way down towards your eyebrows, over your temples and cheekbones then down towards your chin. Or, you can begin the process at your chin and work up and outwards. The basic principle is not to rub in towards your nose, but out towards the hairline to successfully remove all traces of make-up. It is also important to rotate sections of the towelette to be sure you're not just rubbing your dirty old make up back into your skin. In fact, after I've removed all my make up with one towelette I often go back over my entire face using the same forehead to chin process to ensure that I have absolutely removed all of my make-up. I also always start at my eyes because I feel that removing eye make-up is of the utmost importance as leaving caked on eye make-up on the eyes can lead to sties, or worse, infection. It is also helpful to note that if you wear a lot of heavy, full face make-up, you will need to use two or more towelettes per evening for sure.

Going to bed with a fresh face is as essential to me as going to bed with teeth brushed... it's just a "must-do" in my book, and I'm so thankful to have found Neutrogena's Night Calming Make Up Remover Towelettes because unlike other make-up removing towelettes the scent is actually very relaxing and calming, it truthfully sets the mood for sleep. And, next to proper skin care the best thing you can do for your skin and well-being is get a good night's sleep.
