In the digital camera world, there are manufacturers that are producing sophisticated devices in order for them to occupy the top position in the market. The Nikon Company although not a big name but they have also made their mark and have part of the market share. The introduction of the D60 by the Nikon expertise has proven that the company has what it takes to be at the top of the world leading manufacturers in the world of digital cameras. There are lots of features equipped in the D60 digital camera, which includes 10 mega pixel DX format CCD Nikon EXPEED processing, 3D Color Matrix Metering II, 420 pixel sensor and many more.

Body & Design

The D60 digital camera is equipped with a dimension of 126 x 94 x 64 mm and has a weight of 524 grams. The device is quite suitable to carry in a small pause but when compare with the Olympus E-410 that has a dimension130 x 91 x 53 mm and has a weight of 435 grams a photographer would notice that the D60 is bigger than the Olympus E-410. Although in the market there are other digital cameras from competitive manufacturer that have introduced bigger device when compare with the D60 digital camera. This includes Sony DSLR-A200 that has a dimension of131 x 98.5 x 71 mm and has a weight of 625 g, and also Pentax K200D, which is equipped with a dimension of 133.5mm x 95mm x 74mm and has a weight of 690 g.

LCD Monitor
The D60 digital camera features a 2.5" LCD monitor, which governs the back-side of the device. The buttons used in the D60 digital camera are relatively large, which means that users with large fingers would not have problem with it.

Camera information display
The Nikon expertise has modified the manner in which the information of the camera is display. This is attained when the digital camera is activated.

Graphic representation of shutter speed and aperture with the camera setting is provider by the information display of the D60 digital camera. A photographer can find the way around this monitor to regulate settings such as portrait quality, white balance, ISO, drive mode by pressing the Quick Setting.

Viewfinder
The viewfinder of the D60 digital camera is astonishingly vivid and outsized. It featured frame coverage of 95% and a magnification of 0.8 xs.

Battery and Charger
The EN-EL9 Lithium-Ion with a capacity of 1000 mAh at 7.4 V supplies power to the D60 digital camera manufactured by the Nikon Company. The MH-23 battery charger is used to recharge the device when it runs out of power. A photographer should know that it takes about an hour and 30 minutes for it to be fully charged.

Secure Digital Compartment
A photographer has to push the SD card in order to insert it and also push in order to bring it out. On the back right rim of the hand grip is the position of the SD card cubicle door. A photographer does not have to deactivate the camera before the SD card is inserted. SD card up to 2 GB is supported by the D60 digital camera.

Pop-Up Flash
When a photographer manually press or punch the flash button the electronic-release pop-up flash is raise automatically. This button also doubles as the flash mode and flash compensation button, by holding the pop-up flash and turning the command dial the button performs dual functions, which includes flash mode and compensation button.

The Nikon D60 digital camera is a utility device that would blow the mind of every curiosity photographer, either neophyte or experience globally.

    I have to agree with Kev - Nikon and Canon are the two biggest names in the industry. You know what's not a big name? Sony. I just heard from someone who tells me their Sony Alpha 100 is pretty good. I understand that camera is comparable to the Nikon D60, but I'm no expert.
