Review: NordicTrack A2350 Treadmill

Michael Sass
NordicTrack is one of the most recognized names in the world of fitness. They started about 20 years ago with the NordicTrack skiers and have expanded to many other fitness devices, including some of the best treadmills around. Their line consists of 11 treadmill models with suggested retail prices from $1,099 to $3,499. The A2350 is priced at $1,299, one of the lower priced models, but most times you can get it at a much lower price, as mush as $500.00 off.

While the NordicTrack A2350 does not have all the bells and whistles that the higher priced models do, it is perfectly fine for the average person who just want to keep in shape or get their walking exercise in on bad weather days. NordicTrack must have a lot of confidence in their product because it comes with a lifetime guarantee on the motor and frame and a 1 year guarantee on parts.

The NordicTrack A2350 comes packed with a lot of special programs. For instance there is the Fitness Age Center. Your real age and your fitness age will probably not be the same, especially when you are just starting a fitness program. Put in your personal stats - age weight etc and the NordicTrack A2350 will give you your fitness age. Then as you go through your fitness program you can watch as your fitness age becomes the same as your actual age and hopefully surpasses it. Plug your workout cards into the treadmill and it will automatically adjust your speed and incline. With just a touch of a button, you can adjust both your speed and incline. The belt is larger than on most other treadmills, 20" X 55" letting you take long strides. The cushioning level is also adjustable so you can take it easy on your knees. It comes with 5 weight loss programs and 5 workout programs, measures your heart rate and can hold up to 300 pounds.

There really are no drawbacks to the NordicTrack A2350, as long as you do not expect it to do what the higher priced models do. The NordicTrack A2350 is for moderate use. If you want a treadmill for the entire family, for instance that go for a higher end model. If it is just for you and you are going to use it for a short time each day, then it will be fine. If you really become hooked on treadmills and want to get a more advanced model, the NordicTrack A2350 does have a good resale value. I did extensive research on the pricing and while you can by the NordicTrack A2350 at retailers such as Sears, there is no difference in the price from buying it directly from NordicTrack, so unless you want to carry it home and not wait for delivery, I would buy direct. It does make it easier if you need to return it for any reason.

I purchased this unit and the latch knob was broke out of the box. Got a hold of Rosie at NordicTrack and she said that they would have to charge me to the replacement piece. After fighting with her about not having to pay for the piece, she laughed at me and refused to let me talk to her supervisor. Don't look for any help from their customer service. My treadmill is going back.
