Review: Old Navy's Halloween Costumes

M
Old Navy's Halloween costumes are not only the cutest but also the least expensive. Last year, was my daughter's first Halloween. I purchased the chicken costume from Old Navy. She looked so adorable that when I took her to Picture People for some Halloween pictures, they displayed her on their wall. This year, I just purchased our second Old Navy Halloween costume, a ladybug. When I tried it on her, I just could not pass it up.

Another reason why I could not pass it up was because it was 50% off the regular price. The regular price isn't even that expensive. Most of the costumes are $22.50. Therefore, my daughter's ladybug costume cost $11.25. How can you beat that price for the quality of the costume? You can't. I checked Target and they had a similar costume that Old Navy carries but the quality just wasn't as good as Old Navy. Old Navy costumes are thick, warm and comfortable. The Target costume was thin compared to Old Navy's and it also did not look as well made. Target's lion style costume was $14.50. Not much more than the one I purchased but mine was on sale.

Each year, Old Navy comes out with different animal costumes such as a chicken, skunk, ladybug, dragon, lion, and mermaid. The sizes run from newborn up to 4T. Most of the costumes are similarly designed. A soft fleece coat resembles whatever animal you choose. For the ladybug, the coat is red with a belly patch of black. Attached on the back, you will find black wings with red hearts on them. The hood on the coat has a red and black antenna. The pants are made of a fleece material with red bows on the bottom.

The chicken costume, which I bought last year, is similar to the ladybug costume. The coat was white which resembled feathers. The belly area was yellow and the hood looked like a chicken's head. The pants were also white but the bottoms had two chicken feet attached that fell right on top of my daughter's feet. The whole costume was made of soft, thick, fleece material.

If you haven't bought your child a Halloween costume, I highly recommend Old Navy's selection. If you have, it's okay because there is always next year. The past two years, Old Navy's selection of Halloween costumes has increased so I am suspecting that next year they will have even more choices. I will definitely buy my daughter's costumes from Old Navy until she tells me otherwise.

Your review was right on. Old Navy's costumes are GREAT and they are made with warmth in mind. It's kind of funny because I too dressed my daughter in the chicken costume her first Halloween and the ladybug costume her second Halloween.
