Old Timer's Restaurant in Millington offers country cooking and great service. The chef is very well trained and creates new dishes frequently. When you enter the restaurant through the train car entrance you start to feel the history of the town we call Millington. Inside you will find displayed throughout pictures of days gone by showing how the town came to be. There is a train that goes around the dining room that will fascinate the kids to see. It is a family restaurant that all families could have quality time together.

Let's start with the breakfast menu. If you are wanting a breakfast for under $7 you can get the Sampler that has French toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuit, jelly, and butter. Or you can go cheaper and get biscuits and sausage gravy for $2.99. If ham is your choice of meat then you can get the farmer selection that runs $7.95. I personally love their omelettes, rather it be a western, ham & cheese, or cheese. The also offer a side item list that you can use to create your own breakfast.

Lunch & dinner menu is loaded. The appetizer list consists of Deep fried Mushrooms, Buffalo Wings, Mozarella sticks, Soup of the day, or chicken tenders. I personally love the deep fried mushrooms, they are fried to perfection. They also have lunch specials that change daily, check with the waitress for selections. Their salad menu has the normal selections but has a BBQ Salad that offers smoked meat on top of greens with mozarella with tomatoes. You can also choose a veggie plate with three or four vegetables of your choice.

The Burger menu has some good selections starting with the old fashion burger that is charbroiled. My favorite is the Mushroom Swiss burger. Other selections include the grilled cheese sandwich and the club sandwich. There are other selections that are available on the menu.

They have a kids menu that consists of burgers, chicken strips, spaghetti, Barbeque, fish, grilled cheese, and french-fries.

The fish on the menu is fabulous. It is pond raised catfish that is cooked just right. You can get a fish dinner for $9.50 with two sides of your choice. There is also shrimp and blackened tuna available. The country menu continues with southern fried chicken, chicken dumplings, turnip greens, white beans, and pinto beans.

The barbeque is non-rubbed dry style. You can get a rib platter or a pork plate. They also offers smoked chicken. All of the items on the barbeque menu offers two side dishes.

If steaks are your thing they have a 8 oz. Rib eye steak for $15 and a 12 oz. For $19. The steaks are good but not my favorite. If chicken is what you want then they have grilled chicken breast that is flavored with a Cajun flair.

This is a place that proves that you can't judge the book by its cover. The name Old Timers tend to run off younger clientele by thinking that they serve senior citizens most of the time. Give this place a chance and you will see what you have been missing.
