Review: Online Episode Player - NBC

Judith Blakley
Every major television network is not only competing for your views on air, but also online. Some networks have put together great online episode players so that the public can easily keep up with their favorite shows without difficulty. Other networks do not seem to put much effort into their online players. Regardless, every online episode player I have used has been relatively easy without too many kinks, except for NBC's online episode player. NBC is my least favorite network to watch online.

Shows Currently Available:

3D Rock
Bionic Woman
Chuck
Coastal Dreams
(online only)
Friday Night Lights
Heroes
Journeyman
Las Vegas
Last Comic Standing
Late Night
Life
Miss Teen USA 2007
My Name is Earl
The Office
Pale Force
(online only)
Phenomenon
Tonight Show

How To Use NBC's Online Episode Player:

1. Go to NBC.com. You will find the listing of available shows in the center of the page.

2. Scroll down to the show you wish to view and click it. A new page will open up with the episode player where you can adjust the size and volume.

3. On the lower left side of the page, you can click to choose the episode you wish to watch.

My Experience Using NBC's Online Episode Player:

I walked away from the computer while waiting for the player to load and then when I clicked on the episode I wanted to watch it told me that that episode does not exist. I tried to use this player a few months ago and also gave up. I have not yet successfully watched any show using it.

Writer's Strike Note: When you watch a television show online, download a podcast or buy a season on DVD - the writers get no residual income. The actors, producers and network make money, but the people who wrote the words the actors spoke get nothing.
