The ads were really elegant and beautiful. They had the models wearing rich shades of browns, purples, and yellow, and they looked really mellow, unlike a lot of the OPI ads that are usually bright and over-the-top.
But the reason why I really liked the ads was because warm fall colors flatter my skin the most and I knew that every shade of nail polish that was apart of the Collection de France would flatter my skin..
It's strange because I've never really been into purple, I own like one shirt with purple in it, but for some reason last year I started to want purple makeup, whether it was lipstick or eye shadow. It can be really mysterious and sexy. So when I saw that OPI made a dark shade of purple polish called Eiffel For This Color, I had to get a bottle of it.
I went to Ulta and found the Eiffel For This Color shade and bought a bottle for $8.50.
Eiffel For This Color is a deep rich purple, that reminds me of the color of eggplants. Even though it's purple and it has its cool tones, it's more of a warm color so it compliments my brown skin. It's such a deep rich purple that it almost looks like a dark chocolate color in certain lighting.
When I got home I did fall for the color after I tried it on Eiffel For This Color because it looked really good against my skin and it made one of my turquoise rings pop.
I liked that it's sexy and dramatic but it isn't the typical black and navy shades that everyone's been wearing for the past three years. I think it's edgy but sophisticated at the same time and it's a shade I could totally see Rihanna rocking.
This was my first bottle of OPI Nail Lacquer and it is more than the average nail polish, but I thought it was worth the price. It has a really wide brush so it covers your nails quicker and the polish wasn't clumpy or runny. It went on smoothly and dried quickly, and it leaves a silky finish. Plus two coats gave me the exact same shade that the color looks in the bottle.
My only issue with this nail polish is that Eiffel For This Color is kind of a high maintenance nail polish. Because its such a dark shade your nails and cuticles have to be in perfect condition or else every flaw will be magnified with it. I am not great at doing my nails so I need someone else to do my nails with this color.
Overall though I totally recommend the OPI Nail Lacquer in Eiffel For This Color, to anyone looking for an edgy and cool looking dark nail polish, try it out. 5 out of 5 stars.
