Review of Orville Redenbacher's Smart Pop Butter Flavor Mini Bags

Daisy May
Popcorn is naturally low in calories and fat, which makes it a great snack. So I bought Orville Redenbacher's Smart Pop butter flavored mini bags for a snack. Was it a good decision?

Orville Redenbacher's Smart Pop Butter Flavored Mini Bags are 94% fat free and are only one hundred calories. Each box contains ten mini bags.

Single serving bags are a great way not to overeat. Also, it prevents waste from cooking a full size bag for only one person.

It took only one minute and twenty seconds to microwave a single bag. It cooked perfectly without any burnt popcorn and the bag was filled to bursting with fluffy white popcorn. The smell of the popcorn was wonderfully delicious. Unfortunately, that is where the good words end.

After pouring a small amount of salt in the bag, I took my first bite. I was utterly disappointed. The popcorn tasted almost stale. The popcorn was dry and had almost no taste other than the salt I had added to the bag. I honestly do not know why the label said butter flavored when the butter seemed to be absent. I melted some butter and poured it on top in hopes that it would add flavor and possibly make it not as dry. It helped somewhat but not enough. There wasn't enough doctoring that I could do to make Orville Redenbacher's Smart Pop Butter Flavored Mini Bags tasty.

After buying and trying Orville Redenbacher's Smart Pop Butter Flavor Mini Bags I know I will never buy this product again. I was very disappointed that Orville Redenbacher's name was on such an inferior item. To me the Orville Redenbacher's name on popcorn had always been a sign of quality before.

I would not recommend Orville Redenbacher's Pop Smart Butter Flavor Mini Bags to anyone. Even people on a diet would not eat this product and be happy. I suggest buying popcorn kernels and popping them yourself if you want to limit the amount you eat. Otherwise just buy regular sized bags of microwave popcorn and throw away the popcorn not eaten. It is worth the trouble and cost in order to not eat Orville Redenbacher's Smart Pop Mini Bags.

I bought my package of ten count Orville Redenbacher's Smart Pop Butter Flavor Mini Bags popcorn at Wal-mart for around four dollars. This product is available at most quality retail stores nationwide including Kroger and Kmart.
