I've found that buy investing in quality clothing and Oxiclean by the caseload; I've been able to conquer each and every stain that's hit the hamper. I've washed everything from towels to shoes in Oxiclean and have been extremely pleased with the results every single time. I've been consistently adding a scoop of Oxiclean to every load of wash I've done for over a year now and the appearance and life of our clothes has benefited greatly.
I've been able to remove stains like soy sauce, spaghetti sauce, syrup, blueberries, strawberries and every other berry, sweet potato, peanut butter, chocolate by just adding a single scoop of Oxiclean to my regular wash cycle in addition to my usual laundry detergent and liquid fabric softener. Stains like dirt, mud, blood, oil, butter, etc. can be removed if they are soaked immediately in hot water and a few scoops of Oxiclean. All these types of stains need to soak in hot water before starting the wash cycle. You may need to soak for as little as an hour or up to 24. After soaking, then washing as you normally would, inspect your garment to ensure the stain is completely gone. If the stain isn't removed by a single soak and wash, you will need to repeat the process allowing it to soak for a longer period of time and adding even more Oxiclean before putting the clothing into the dryer. Drying a stain causes it to further set, making it even more difficult, if not impossible, to remove. You can, however, allow the garment to air dry before deciding on the next course of treatment.
I've also had great results when using Oxiclean to clean carpets. Once again, good quality is important and if you have good quality carpeting, stains will be much easier to remove. If you wish to spot treat the stain before using your steam cleaner, simply make a paste of Oxiclean and water, allow it to sit on the stain for several minutes, them wipe up with clean water. Adding a scoop of Oxiclean to the water tank of your steam cleaner is a great way to boost the cleaning power of your regular carpet shampoo.
I honestly didn't believe that Oxiclean could work as well as it does, but I couldn't be more pleased with their product. It truly is the ultimate stain fighter.
