Review of My New Pantech Impact

Tyler Bilbo
A little over a month ago I walked into my local AT&T mobile store to get an upgraded phone for my wireless plan. I already had a particular phone in mind to look at, but when I asked the salesman about the phone he told me that it had been taken off the market due to a recall. Knowing this I instantly decided this phone was not for me (not too hard to conclude). Then I decided to browse the selection and try to find another phone that would catch my eye.

Usually I am a 12-button phone kind of guy. I like to keep things simple and I do not like the idea of using a full keyboard on a cell phone. Being this type of person narrowed my selection down quite a bit. The phones I saw in the store that were the 12-button types, which I like, were so basic that I was unable to find one that could win me over. This made me realize that if I was going to get a new phone I was going to have to break down and go with a full-keyboard "smart-phone".

This was quite a blow to my mind, but I figured it evidently is time to move on to the new technology in phones. I looked around and found a few that I liked, but all of them either had too small of keys, were too bulky, or were just too expensive. Then I came across the Pantech Impact. It was the perfect size, nicely streamlined, had bigger buttons for my big fingers, had a front cover that used the old 12-button format, had an expandable memory slot (micro SD) , and was $49.99 with a $50 mail-in rebate. I instantly knew this was the phone for me. I was done searching and purchased the phone.

That was a month ago and I am now ready to tell you my opinion on the phone to date. I must say that I am still very pleased with the Pantech Impact. The full-keyboard was something I had to get use to, but ended up liking. The battery life is great, being able to last 3 to 4 days on a full charge (even though I like to text). The keys on the phone are easy to lock but hard to accidentally unlock in your pocket. It is easy to switch to speaker phone, all you have to do it open up the phone and you are on speaker phone. The only problem I have had is minor. When you are done with a call the keys are locked and you cannot hit end until you unlock the keys. Other than that is has worked like a dream.

All-in-all this phone was a great purchase to me. I have been pleased with the phone every day and am glad I made the push forward into the smart phone technology. If you are like me and a little hesitant in upgrading, then give the Pantech Impact a try and I am sure you will be please as much as I am.
