Review of PartyLite Tealights

Lisa Ross
Home parties are a mixed bag. Some love 'em, some hate 'em. And depending on the products sold, they can be a glorious evening of shopping from a recliner, or a woeful obligation. Add to that a good dose of sticker shock, and you might be comtemplating just staying home. Here's why PartyLite tealights are worth your money.

These little beauties are 7.95 a dozen, or 8.95 for some of the specialty fragrances. Each tealight burns for 4-6 hours, so that's a cost of eight cents an hour to burn a tealight. When the tealight is done burning it simply goes out by itself.

You don't have to trim the wicks on these, as the wicks have been specially designed for this size of candle. The tealights come in clear plastic cups. Since the wax liquefies, this creates a beautiful effect. The liquid wax looks like a shimmering oil. When selecting your tealights, remember when the wax melts it looks darker than the original color. For example, the Ocean Mist tealights are royal blue, and when liquefied they are a beautiful midnight blue. The wax is 100% food-grade paraffin and the wicks are 100% cotton, making these some of the cleanest-burning candles available today. This clean burn is what keeps people coming back to PartyLite shows and buying them. They do not cause soot to collect on the walls or on your candleholders.

The wax, once melted, tends to burn quite cool. One can extinguish the flame and stick a finger into the liquid wax and not be burned.

They come in over fifty different fragrances, ranging from fruity to herbal to floral. They put out a surprisingly large amount of fragrance for their size, more than the votives or pillars. This wonderful fragrance throw combined with a clean burn makes them a great product.

PartyLite offers many choices of tealight holders which are relatively inexpensive. It is recommended that they only be burned in PartyLite holders, since other types of holders might not be designed to hold the liquefied wax. The tealights can also be used as floating candles; they just float right on the surface of the water!

Maybe you don't like to burn candles. Your tealights can still bring joy to your life. A few candles tossed in your vacuum cleaner bag can freshen things up every time you vacuum. They are also nice tossed in closets or drawers to keep them smelling nice, and keep putting our scent over time.

Failing that, they make great gifts. Keeping a few boxes of tealights on hand comes in handy for those times when you need to find a gift at the last minute.
