Review of Patricia Wexler M.D. Damage Reversal Lip Treatment
The Best Lip Moisturizer Treatment I've Tried
However, having tried the product, I would wholeheartedly recommend the product to all age groups. The day I first tried it, I wasn't having a "dry lip" day. But I was astonished at the youthful look it gave my lips within minutes. I had that dewy, juicy lip look that I haven't seen since pictures of myself as a child.
The product itself is a highly emollient cream that dispenses easily from a click pen. It absorbs easily and completely in record time. You can put lipstick, gloss, anything you like over it - it's no different from a regular facial moisturizer, perhaps a little thicker than Clinique's Dramatically Different - but far better for the lips.
As far as other benefits, it also plumps lips in an extraordinary way. Not only were my lips bigger (with no sting - just plumping with moisture), every little vertical line on my lips disappeared. You simply have no idea what kind of difference that change makes on anyone's lips. With the possible exception of Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, even children have those lines - your lips lack oil glands, and your lips move all the time, so lines will inevitably form on everyone. But if you want the utopian, lipstick-model line free lips we all yearn for (even if it just lasts a few hours), this is the product for you.
The packaging says to apply it morning and night, or as often as needed. If you are simply using it as part of your beauty routine, and don't need the reparative moisturizer feature like I do, I would recommend putting it on before you use lipliner or lipstick, letting it sink in, and then massaging it in before you apply lip color. Don't worry - it absorbs completely, so your lipstick won't bleed.
Also, make sure to use it on the skin around the lips. It plumps and contours in just the right spots, and even highlights the bow nice without being shimmery - a problem I've always had when I try to highlight the upper bow. It also does an impressive job with the corners of the mouth - for as many times as I've read about how aging sagging lip corners can be, it didn't hit me that even if the sagging is barely noticeable, it makes a big difference.
On the whole, the Wexler Damage Reversal Lip Treatment blew me away. After the initial dismay that I've been walking around having a flaw I didn't know about, I always love finding products that fix problems like that. You will see an instant difference, and with regular use you'll forget what your lips used to look like in no time!

Post a CommentThank you for your review of this product; I've been wondering about it for some time. My lips just haven't been the same since I spent 13 years in the desert -- and I'm probably in Dr. Wexler's demographic, which despite good genes, doesn't help the lip thing. My only concern is that I just saw it as one of the "9 Worst Beauty Products" on TotalBeauty.com -- but I don't know who makes that list! Maybe I'll give this a try. Again, thanks for a great review!
I like the ones that don't sting - good review
