Peralta's serve a Tex-Mex menu. Everything from enchiladas and tacos to stuffed relleno peppers and smothered chicken breast. I tend to always order the same thing when I go places. Not sure why, just do. When I go to Peralta's I usually get the Laredo dinner which is two enchiladas, rice, beans and a side of guacamole. Now compared to my most favorite restaurant, Mercados, which is located in Tyler, Texas the enchiladas come in second. That is still saying a lot. Peralta's enchiladas are very good! Their rice and beans are good too. My family enjoys getting their charro beans on occasion instead of the refried beans.
One thing I always look forward to when going to a Mexican restaurant is what their chips and hot sauce will taste like. Sometimes that is a clue on how the rest of the food will taste. Peralta's chips and hot sauce are very good! Now I will say, I have noticed the last couple of times I have been there that their hot sauce has had a touch of a different flavor. This could be the effects of a new cook or new recipe or just the batch. I am not sure. It was still very good hot sauce, just not as good as in the past. The rest of the food still tasted the same and was still good.
Another aspect I always look at in a restaurant is the promptness of being seated and served. On occasion at Peralta's there will be a line and you will have to endure some wait time, but even then they tend to move things right along.
Peralt'as is also very speedy on getting your drink orders in and then bringing them back out. Last night I think was probably a record. My husband and I went to eat there and we were in and out in 30 minutes! Our food came probably like 10 minutes or less after we ordered it. It was very fresh and very hot! In my opinion, that is service!
Peralta's prices are very reasonable. Most of their items are around $6.50 or so with a few higher priced items that include more food quantity. They also do not charge for refills or tortillas. I have actually been to a few Mexican food restaurants where they charge you full price for each refill and charge you for any tortillas you request. Now that is just wrong! I have also known one restaurant, which will remain nameless, who actually charge you for the hot sauce and chips! Imagine that! A Mexican restaurant charging you for hot sauce and chips.
Peralta's gets an A+ for all around good service, good food and good prices! If you are ever in the area then I highly suggest you try Peralta's!
