I decided to stop off at the gym after work last night and my wife (who actually had some energy after work for a change) decided to do some much needed housework while waiting for me to come home.
Since it was late and we didn't really have any dinner plans, she decided to order something new from Pizza Hut, their Big Dinner Box and, since I was starving, I didn't object to this. So, once I got home, I was online ordering it.
At first, I was a bit concerned about the $19.99 price of this item since we are trying not to spend too much money on luxuries now that Christmas is coming up and we have to do some shopping yet. However, once I started the ordering process, I immediately started seeing the attraction to this because it is actually a pretty decent deal; two medium sized (one topping) pizzas, breadsticks and wings.
And, let me tell you, that really was a big box. The second it was delivered, I realized that, if we had leftovers (and we did), we were going to have to re-package them because there was absolutely no way that long of a box would fit in the fridge. As far as food goes, there was more than plenty. My wife and I still had most of our pizzas left, along with the majority of the breadsticks and wings.
Another thing that concerned me about this product was how good of a selection we would get. I've seen offers like this from other restaurants (and not necessarily pizza places) and, while the price was decent, they usually are pretty strict about what you can and cannot order.
When it came to the Pizza Hut Big Dinner Box, there were some restrictions. The pizzas could only have the one topping (I'm not sure if you can pay extra for more) and you only get to choose pan crust. But, other than that, I was given quite a few choices. This is especially true of the wings, I was able to choose what flavor I wanted and whether I wanted traditional bone-in wings or boneless.
Overall, I have to say I was very happy with this purchase. Because there is so much food in it, I don't know if I would buy it again if it was just for me and my wife. But, the next time we have a party, this is something I definitely would consider buying.
