Review of the Port Royal Hotel in Wildwood Crest, New Jersey
Hotel that Offers Entertainment for Children and Adults in Wildwood Crest, New Jersey
The rooms at the Port Royal Hotel are very nice and range from $250 to $290 per night during peak summer tourist season at the beach. The rooms are generally standard size, but very clean and well kept with VCR/DVD units in the rooms. The Ocean Suites at Port Royal Hotel have ovens in them which is a great time and money saver for families who want to cook their own meals at the beach and not wait in those long lines at boardwalk restaurants. For large families, you should inquire about the Efficiency Apartment located on the property of the Port Royal Hotel in Wildwood Crest, New Jersey. This Efficiency Apartment has four beds so an extended family can travel together to enjoy the beach and boardwalk in Wildwood Crest, NJ.
Speaking of family, if you stay at the Port Royal Hotel in Wildwood Crest, New Jersey during the standard summer months of June through August you should check out the children's entertainment program they have. It is supervised with plenty of activities for the young ones so the adults can enjoy a day on the beach, or a romantic stroll along the boardwalk in Wildwood, New Jersey. For meals there is a fun Doo-Wop theme restaurant to help you remember the older days of the Wildwoods where it was known as a beach town to see some of the famous music performers of the era in the 50's. Other entertainment options include a pool that has a kiddie pool area as well, and a game room with pool and tennis tables.
Parking in Wildwood Crest, New Jersey just like all of the Wildwoods is an issue. The Port Royal Hotel is no exception, they do offer parking at the hotel for $4 a night. This is limited to one car per room though. The good news is that there is plenty of street parking surrounding the area the Port Royal Hotel is located at and even during peak travel season you have a decent shot of finding a free parking spot.
The Port Royal Hotel is located about one mile to the boardwalk, and it is about another mile until you reach the piers on the boardwalk with the rides and games. You may want to consider walking to the boardwalk and taking the tram car that runs the length of the boardwalk. Keep in mind if you drive that during the peak beach season many lots will charge $20 or more to park for the evening.
Overall, the Port Royal hotel is one of those hotels that I consider when traveling with my family to the Wildwoods in New Jersey and I'm looking for a quieter area to stay other than Wildwood or North Wildwood.
