Just recently I had the opportunity to get Reba seasons 1-4 on amazon.com and what a deal it was, all four season for $54.99. I love watching the show and always get a laugh out of it so when I went to try to find the last two seasons, I couldn't find them. I didn't understand why Fox hadn't released the last two as it had been almost a year since it had been canceled. So I started looking around on how to find the last two seasons since I thought maybe Amazon.com didn't have those, only to find out that Fox was not going to release them due to poor sales on the first four.
So here is my vent, why even release the first four if you aren't even going to complete the collection? What is the point of only having the first four seasons of a show, only to be cut off because the company won't release it for those of us that want it. Additionally, I didn't even know that you could buy Reba's TV show on DVD so maybe if they had marketed the product better then the sales would have increased. I don't get why a company would do this to it's fan base since us, the viewers, were the ones that kept the show on for the six seasons it had.
This isn't the only show where certain seasons weren't released after a few were brought onto the market. After some careful research I found that it's common among the production company to cut off making the rest of the collection if they see that sales do not meet or exceed what they expected. They see it as a risk of loosing money since stock on the older DVD's are just sitting in companies back rooms, they don't see any reason to release the last few seasons because obviously (to them) if people didn't want the first few, why would they want the rest?
It's simple, the cost of buying a season on DVD is expensive (unless you find it on sale like I did). While the Reba DVD's only had three discs, there are some that have six and the more discs in a collection the higher the cost of the season. Some seasons even go up to $50 and I've even seen Ghost Whisperer at $75, thus this is why the general public won't buy it. Why buy something that expensive when you can still watch it on TV for free?
Unfortunately, for those of us who want the last two seasons, we either need to bombard Fox with lots of letters and writings, or you could go the simpler route and sign the on-line petition that is at Ipetitions.com. Hopefully Fox will be kind enough to release the last two seasons for those of us loyal fans patiently waiting.

Good news! Season 5 will be released in January 2009!!! I can't wait!
Yes, you can make a difference. Contact FoxTVDVD.com and tell them that you would like to have the release of the other two seasons on DVD. It sucks that they do this to us, the consumers who keep buying their products! Now, If I go to the store and see a DVD for sale that grabs my eye, I flip it over and see if it has the Fox logo on it. If it does, I put it back. One, because I hate supporting FOX if they decide to treat us like third rate consumers. And two, because (if the product is a TV show on DVD) unless I know that the complete series is already out on DVD, FOX will probably sell all but one or two final seasons of the show and call it quits! SOOOOO frustrating! Contact FOX and tell them that you do not intend on buying anymore FOX products unless they bring this series to completion!
Is there anyway to e-mail or contact fox about putting out the last two seasons? I think if there was enough people asking for them, they would put them out. Reba is one of my favorite shows and I don't want to have an incomplete collection!
