Review of Red Robin in Murray, UT

SE
The Red Robin in Murray, Utah started off great and ended in a fizzle. I don't eat at Red Robin very often, if ever. I actually don't recall ever eating at a Red Robin in the past. I don't think I'll go back to the Murray, Utah location very soon. My first visit here was not impressive.

I went during the middle of the week, so there was no wait at all for a table, which was great. Unfortunately, table was in direct line of the front door. Think cold drafts. Unavoidable yet unfortunate layout.

Red Robin is known for burgers and fries so of course that's what I ordered. I ordered a BBQ burger, which was good, but I prefer the similar (and what I consider superior) Jack Daniels burger at T.G.I.Friday's. The fries were good - best part was the seasoning. Personally I don't enjoy country style fries, which these were. I almost always go for shoestring.

Our server was friendly, but... seemed to be running around like a chicken with his head cut off and not very attentive. To his credit it was somewhat busy and he did check on us a time or two during the time we (family and I) were eating. However, his lack of attentiveness was evident in the fact it took a good ten min or so just to get a drink refill. We sat for about as long - 15, maybe 20 minutes after we were totally finished eating to get our check.

After wrapping things up and going home, we found out our experience with Red Robin in Murray, Utah was not over. While checking up on our banking accounts as part of regular maintenance, we discovered two pending charges from the restaurant. Not only were we charged twice, the second charge was for a few hundred dollars. Kind of a big deal when you don't make much and consider eating at a restaurant like this a splurge.

After a phone call to the bank and a visit to Red Robin, situation appears to be under control. The general manager of Red Robin in Murray, Utah did try to remedy the situation. As it turns out our fabulous server rang our purchase wrong. The manager gave us documentation that the second, erroneous charge was voided and would not actually run through our account. He also gave us two vouchers for free meals - totaling $14.00. Try eating for two at Red Robin for $14 or less. We found this to be a buzzkill.

Ultimately, we may have caught Red Robin at the wrong time, being seated in the section of a server who was not having his greatest night at work. The banking snafu could technically happen to anyone. And does. However, that coupled with the food being good but not fantastic, I'm not eager to visit Red Robin in Murray, Utah anytime soon.
