Review of the New Release Animated DVD Shaun the Sheep: Party Animals

Roy A. Barnes
This is a review of the new release animated DVD Shaun the Sheep: Party Animals. It's from Lionsgate and HiT Entertainment. I was provided a review copy of Shaun the Sheep: Party Animals, but was under no obligation to recommend it. My observations are my own. The zany antics of the sheep, the other farm animals, and the Farmer highlight this product.

Synopsis of the New Release Animated DVD Shaun the Sheep: Party Animals

Seven episodes that run a total of about 45 minutes make up this DVD. In the first vignette, Party Animals, Shaun schemes with the other sheep to come as guests to the Farmer's masquerade birthday party after the dog Bitzer fails to mail the invitations. In Double Trouble, the sheep confuse both Bitzer and the Farmer by disguising themselves as the latter. In Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow, the Farmer's toupee gets wet before his big date, and during its drying out, the farm animals get a hold of it for constant mayhem. In Pig Swill Fly, the sheep and the Naughty Pigs have a war-like scrap while the farm inspector is on site. In Operation Pidsley, Pidsley the cat gets hold of the sheep's photos of them raising cain in the Farmer's house while he's gone and then tries to get them "busted." In Shaun Goes Potty, the Farmer's new pool table gets damaged while the animals play with it. The final episode in this animated DVD is Strictly No Dancing, where the sheep get tired of hearing (and scheme to stop) the constant dance music that Pidsley is playing to teach the Farmer how to dance.

More about the New Release Animated DVD Shaun the Sheep: Party Animals

The bonus features include a short video called "Building-A-Pig" where modelmaker Harriet Thomas shows some children how to make miniature Naughty Pigs. And there's a short music video called "Timmy's Tune."

I strongly recommend Shaun the Sheep: Party Animals because I never get tired of seeing the antics of these good-natured, but bratty farm animals. The animation is top notch and nicely-detailed for a great viewing experience and the DVD definitely lives up to its title via the wacky episodes. The Suggested Retail Price of this product is $14.98. For more information about Shaun the Sheep, go to the official website here.
