Review of Restaurants in the Mall of America: Hooters Has Some of the Best Wings in Town

Hooters is a restaurant that is known for its scantily clad waitresses. However, what many patrons that have never been to the establishment may not know is that their chicken wings are worth having to put up with the waitresses orange shorts.

The Hooters menu runs the gamut when it comes to variety of foods. For the chicken wings, there are nine different types of sauces available. They start with Mild, and move on to Medium, Hot, 911 Hot, and 3 Mile Island for the standard hot wing sauces. In addition, available is Cajun (which is spicy, but not overly spiced), Samurai (which is a teriyaki style sauce), Spicy Garlic (which has kick, and a lot of garlic seasoning), and Parmesan Garlic (which is self-explanatory). Another one of the things that you do not want to miss on the menu is the Fried Pickles. If you have never tried one and you are from the south, and familiar with a Fried Green Tomato, you will probably have some interest in this item. The restaurant is also known for their seafood. Among the offerings from the sea are snow crab legs, steamed clams, steamed shrimp, oysters on the half shell, and roasted oysters. Their seafood is extremely fresh and normally well prepared.

As for vegetarian dishes, there are not many. Truthfully, the most that one can get from this establishment is a Hooters Cobb Salad, Grilled Chicken Garden Salad, or the Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad, all without the chicken, or the Grilled Cheese Platter.

For those that choose to eat at Hooters, many opt for beer to accompany their food items. Though the standard soft drinks are available, and there really is not a specialization in the area of drinks. However, there is a full bar.

Prices range from $5 for some of the appetizers to $25 for the roaster full of roasted oysters. Parking is available throughout all of the mall entrances. The dress code for the restaurant is casual. The usual way time for a party of four on a weekend night is usually 30 to 45 minutes. This restaurant does not accept reservations. To many, this restaurant is considered kid friendly. You will see high chairs stacked in the corner for those that choose to bring their infants. However, due to the attire that the waitresses wear, some parents may not be comfortable taking their children to this establishment.

For some women going to this restaurant may be a little awkward at first. However, the waitresses are great and the longer you are there, and the more times you go, the more comfortable you will feel.
