Review: Rimmel London's Fix and Perfect - Foundation Primer 001

TommiH
Hey everyone! I'm back with yet again another review. Today we are going to take a look at a Rimmel product. This is Rimmel London's Fix and Perfect Foundation Primer - 001. During this time we will take a look at formula texture, color, and application. Here we go.

Color:

I'm starting off with color because it actually came as a surprise to me. The color is this orange/tan color! I was both shocked and curious at this point. So I continued on with the product. I have medium skin and the product blended in well with my skin tone mostly. There was still an orangey tone which was disappointing for me. I would have to give that color a thumb down.

WARNING: If you have fair to light skin, you may want to stay away from this product. That orange tone would pop on you like a blue flower in the middle of a white flower patch. I can't tell you not to by it, but I can warn you to save your money.

Application:

I was in love with the application. Everything applied smoothly and set in nicely, other than the color. My skin had this amazing silkiness to the touch which was impressive. When summertime first roles around I get a couple patches of dry skin until I adjust, and this primer evened it all out for me. Needless to say, I was satisfied.

You don't need to be a professional to use this primer. All you do it get an applicator sponge and apply a little primer, and rub on your face like you are moisturizing. Or you can always use your fingers to apply. Whichever is more comfortable for you. There are no rules when it comes to makeup.

Formula Texture:

This is a liquid/cream primer. It's creamier than it is runny. Know that this is not an eye primer; it is a foundation primer (face primer). I tried it on my lid just for a curiosity test and it did start to crease a couple hours later.

After the primer has set, the formula leaves a silky healthy feeling to your skin. Despite what people think, this is not a dewy finish, it's a matte finish. I'm not sure where people got the idea that it's dewy, so if someone tells you that it's dewy - ignore them! Ha.

I would recommend this primer for darker skinned people, but only as a foundation primer. Don't get it if you plan to use it for a lid primer, you will only be wasting your money. If you are fair skinned, yes this is a good foundation primer, but it's not for you. Fair skinned individuals will come out looking like pumpkin pie.

This primer was not good at all. It is extremely thick, and has an orange color to it. It won't work for every skin tone. i also have oily skin and this primer didn't last the whole day. I would NOT purchase this primer EVER again!
