Review: Ritz Crackerfuls Four Cheese

Ritz Crackerfuls: An Adult Version of Kraft Handi-Snacks?

Drew Taylor
Do you remember eating those plastic packets of crackers that came with a little tub of cheese and a red spatula? (The best part was spreading the cheese.) Ritz Crackerfuls are a grown up version of that childhood treat. Of the three available flavors, Four Cheese, Cheddar Cheese and Cheddar Cheese with Bacon, I chose to review the Four Cheese Crackerfuls.

Four Cheese Crackerfuls Overview
Taste: Crispy, buttery cracker sandwich with powdery cheese filling.
Price and Availability: $3.59 Available nationwide in grocer's snack section.
Add to Shopping List: No.

What's in the box?
The package includes six individually wrapped Crackerfuls, each measuring approximately 4x2 inches.

Ritz Crackerfuls Nutrition Content
Each one ounce serving (one Crackerful) has 130 calories, 60 calories from fat, 7 grams total fat, 2 grams saturated fat, 1.5 grams polyunsaturated fat, 2.5 grams menstruated fat, 5 milligrams cholesterol, 220 milligrams sodium, 35 milligrams potassium, 17 grams total carbs, 3 grams fiber, 3 grams sugar and 2 grams protein.

Taste and Appearance
As the name implies, these are cracker sandwiches full of cheese. The large scalloped crackers have a subtle butter flavor similar to traditional Ritz crackers.

The package does not specify any cheeses, instead stopping at the ambiguous four cheese description. The ingredient label lists cream cheese, parmesan cheese powder, mozzarella cheese powder and cheddar cheese powder. The generous layer of cheese has a fluffy texture with a slightly gritty or powdery texture. Perhaps it is the parmesan cheese, but it is not especially pleasant.

Crackerfuls Price and Availability
According to the store's shelf tag, the regular price is $3.59, but these are frequently on sale. I paid $1.50 after using a $1 coupon.

Room for Improvement
Since this product is geared toward adults, I would like to see more exotic flavors like tomato and basil crackers. More fiber and less sodium and fat would also make this product more appealing to me.

It is difficult to bite into the large cracker sandwich without it crumbling quite a bit.

The Last Crumb
Crackerfuls are a satiating option as the advertisements indicate, but other sandwich crackers are comparable in flavor and nutrition with a much lower price.

Thanks for the heads up. I love those little packets that you peel back and spoon on the cheese, or dip into it with a cracker stick. Thanks for this.
