I recall the first time I visited a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Richmond, Virginia it quite a sight to behold. As we drove up to this very large piece of land, it reminded me of a Plantation. Well, to my surprise, it was formally a Plantation in the South side of Richmond, Virginia. I remember going up to the front door of the restaurant thinking, "where am I"? As soon as I walked inside the door, the decor was reminiscent of a private club house with wonderfully overstuffed chairs with beautiful silk fabric.

The furniture was beautiful mahogany wood with marble and wrought iron accents. As I walked further inside of the establishment, I felt as though I had just walked into a mansion and expected the butler to greet me at any moment. Although a butler did not greet us, a very friendly host escorted us to a waiting area as our table was not yet available. This waiting area was even more plush and relaxing with comfortable chairs and stools that was nestled by a very warm, sumptuous fire. Since it was the heart of winter in Virginia, the warmth and comfort were so very welcoming!

Soon my party was seated and then the fun truly began. Anyone who knows me, knows that I have a wonderful appreciation for really good food. I believe in trying any dish at least once. This particular night I wanted to try something unconventional at this Steak House. Instead of trying one of their signature steaks I decided to try the lobster. Now, mind you, I didn't order a lobster tail, but a 5 pound Fresh Whole Maine Lobster.

Once my lobster arrived, I was handed a lovely little bib to protect my silk blouse. As that 5 pound lobster sat in front of me, I was mentally preparing my plan of attack. You see, I had never actually eaten a whole lobster before, so I had to be very strategic in how to proceed before devouring it completely. The lobster was perfectly prepared and oh so succulent. I believe I had a side order of asparagus and salad with my lobster. Can I just tell you, it was like eating a little piece of heaven. Needless to say, this was a very successful meal.

My next visit to Ruth's Chris Steak House was at the same Richmond, Virginia location, however, this time I decided to try the Porterhouse Steak. I like mine prepared medium rare. This time I had the potatoes and mushrooms as my side items. Again, this meal did not disappoint. I think I have visited Ruth's Chris more than a dozen times in several different states. I would have to say my favorite Ruth's Chris Steak House locations are Washington, DC, Richmond, Virginia and Atlanta, Georgia.

I have tried just about everything selection on the Ruth's Chris menu and although they are best known for their steaks, I have to say that their Lamb Chops, Chicken and Seafood are absolutely delicious. I understand American's are concerned with their health, so Ruth's Chris has wonderful Ahi-Tuna and Vegetables that will leave you just as satisfied.

The Ruth's Chris Steakhouse that I typically frequent is located on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs, Georgia at 5788 Roswell Road, Atlanta, Georgia 30328 where the Chef is David Rude. Ruth's Chris Steak House offers both lunch and dinner menus that include their signature Porterhouse, T-bone, Seared Ahi-Tuna or Barbecue Shrimp. Ruth's Chris is a great place to enjoy a Anniversary, Birthday, Holiday or business gathering, so give them a call today at 404-255-0035 to book your next event. The bottom-line: Excellent food, A bit pricey, Comfortable atmosphere.
