Review of Safari Tractor by International Play Things

The Safari Tractor Brings the Country to the Jungle

Arthur Kirk
Children love animals, and the Safari Tractor by International Play Things brings the animals from the jungle to children at home or playing outdoors. The tractor combines the fun of a motorized toy with animal sound effects. My son loves the Safari Tractor by International Play Things as it allows him to play with animal figurines different than many of the other sets out there that are themed on the animal or jungle themes. Combine this with a unique looking tractor that has zebra shapes painted on the tractor itself and this is a winner with my son. With how much he enjoys the Safari Tractor by International Play Things, I'd have to recommend this toy to parents of any two to four year old, both boys and girls.

Most toy tractors these days combine sounds and motion. Many of them have taken advantage of technology that allows the toy to make animal sounds when the animal figurines are placed in a certain position on the tractor. The Safari Tractor by International Play Things is no different. The Safari Tractor by Internationa Play Things actually comes with six different animal figurines. These include the zebra, tiger, elephant, giraffe, lion, and a bear. Many of these toy tractors might have a few of these characters, but I have yet to find another that has this same combination. My son loves the giraffe and the zebra. His favorite sound though is the lion roaring.

My two year old also loves it when this tractor moves, because it has a feature that many tractor toys don't have. The Safari Tractor by International Play Things not only plays sounds and moves under its own power, but it also has lights that blink on and off while the tractor travels after he pushes on the black funnel on the tractor.

Not everything is perfect with the Safari Tractor by International Playthings though. This toy really eats through batteries. It takes four AA batteries to run the Safar Tractor by International Playthings. With the combination of the battery powered motion, animal sounds, songs, and lights these batteries don't last very long. I would estimate they last about four to six hours of play before they show signs of wearing down. The Safari Tractor by International Playthings generall sells for $20-30 in stores. I would highly recommend purchasing it for your child if you can find it in the lower range of that price range.

  • The Safari Tractor by International Play Things comes with 6 different animals.
  • The zebra stripes on the tractor set it apart from other sets.
  • Remember, battery life is very low with this toy.
I highly recommend purchasing rechargable batteries if you are buying a lot of these types of toys for your children.
