Review of San Diego, CA based Upstart Crow Bookstore & Coffeehouse

The Upstart Crow Bookstore & Coffeehouse resides in beautiful San Diego within Sea Port Village. It's surrounded in a very touristy area with lots of unique shops and restaurants. The bookstore itself feels very cozy and warm as you walk in. The exterior of the bookstore looks almost like an old craftsman's house, surrounded by beautiful scenery and a hint of the ocean. The interior is equally the same with library meets Starbucks feel to it. As you enter the bookstore, instantly a fresh coffee aroma greets your nose as you walk into Upstart Crow Bookstore & Coffeehouse. It's a two-story bookstore that serves a variety of coffees and pastries. The bookstore is filled with unique books, unusual merchandise, and greeting cards. The bookstore has plenty of seating on the first floor, upstairs, and outside patio. On some of the tables they offer a variety of game boards to play with such as chess and checkers.

During your visit, grab yourself a cappuccino and look around at the different books they have. The selection is everything from a large history section to the current bestsellers. They have lots of humorous books there as well to gaze at. As you look around the bookstore you will notice plenty of customers eating dessert while playing one of the board games there or reading a book on the outside patio. The crowd is very ecliptic due to the locals and the tourist that visit the Upstart Crow Bookstore & Coffeehouse.

Saturday night's Upstart Crow Bookstore & Coffeehouse offer local musicians from San Diego that performs on Saturday nights (at no charge to the customer). Typically the music is Jazz or something mellow. I myself love grabbing a coffee and their wonderful homemade flan as I find a seat to listen to the music.

If you enjoy bookstores, you'll certainly enjoy this unique yet very cozy place. The cost of coffee, pastries, books, and gifts are pretty standard. I didn't feel that the prices were inflated by any means. After you are done with the bookstore there are tons of shops within walking distances and restaurants to go and check out. The Upstart Crow Bookstore & Coffeehouse is truly a unique experience.
