Review: Scene it Twilight Edition DVD Game

A Great Gift for Twilight Fans and Twilight Party Hosts!

Julie Lind
If you are looking for a gift for a Twilight fan, or you are hosting a Twilight party, I recommend buying Scene it: Twilight Edition.

Scene it: Twilight Edition combines a Twilight trivia question board game with an interactive DVD. The DVD includes movie clips from the first Twilight movie, along with other sound bites, photos, puzzles and memory challenges. The host of the DVD is Peter Facinelli, who played Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the movie Twilight.

I played Scene it: Twilight Edition with three other people with varying Twilight knowledge. One person had only seen parts of the Twilight movie, one had read the book and watched the movie, and one had watched the movie multiple times but hadn't read the book. I have read the book and watched the movie multiple times, so I had an advantage over the others. But we all were able to answer some questions, while getting stumped on others.

The object of the game is to travel around the board game and be the first to enter the Twilightning (or final) Round. The four game pieces are in the shape of familiar Twilight objects: a baseball, Charlie's house, a grand piano and Bella's truck. The roll of the die determines if you get a trivia card, a fate card or a DVD Challenge.

My favorite part of Scene It: Twilight Edition is the DVD. Whenever anyone rolled the DVD challenge die, we all cheered because we enjoyed seeing clips from the movie. Add in Dr. Cullen's voice and the soundtrack from the movie Twilight, and it becomes quite a treat for Twilight fans.

I was disappointed that it only took us fifteen minutes to get around the small game board. If I had been playing against other die-hard Twilight fans, I'm sure the game would have gone even faster. Since each correct answer results in an additional turn, it would be possible for a player to get around the board on their first turn. A bigger board would have made the game more challenging.

After finishing the game so quickly, we ended up just reading the trivia cards to each other, and watching the DVD clips. Even without using the board game, I feel Scene it: Twilight Edition is worth the money for Twilight fans.

If you are hosting a Twilight party, place your Scene it: Twilight Edition DVD into your computer's disk drive. On the disk you will find a PDF file which includes a Twilight party checklist, Twilight invitations, and recipes for making Twilightinis, Spartan's Spirit Popcorn and Bella's Bruschetta.

For the Twilight party I would skip the board game and go right to the trivia cards or DVD challenges. One of the options on the Main Menu is Shuffle Play. It is fun to see who can shout out the correct answer first. There are also Mini-Games which test your observation and memory skills. On the Bonus features you will find "Which Cullen Are You?" which asks questions to see which Cullen you are most like. There is also "Read my Mind" to see if you can read your friend's mind.

Overall, I highly recommend Scene it: Twilight Edition for any Twilight fan. It's a great way to get your Twilight fix in-between reading the Twilight books or watching the Twilight movies.

Sounds great for all those Twilight fans ... I'll pass along the recommendation to my cousin who is a fan of all things Twilight.
