Review of Schar Classic White Bread

Another Gluten Free Food

Jennifer Bove
I have in Que a review, "Glutino Gluten/Wheat Free Crackers Review". I hope my reviews help those who find themselves to be intolerant to Gluten, or even worse, have celiac disease, where there is a severe allergy to Gluten.

As I stated in my previous review, I obtained the Gluten free products I have at the moment from
Giant grocery store. While a little pricier than regular bread, I think in comparison to specialty stores,
the prices really are not that bad. Most grocery stores now have specialty aisles that cater to those
with food intolerances. Sometimes it is just a matter of personal preferance to eat foods with certain
ingredients not added in.

Review of Schar Gluten Free Classic White Bread-Taste

I have to be honest here, so here goes it. Schar Gluten Free Classic White bread is extrmely dry,
bland and plain This is at first taste, keep in mind. Also keep in mind this is from one who's been
spoiled with Strohman's their whole life. I tried it with my Gluten free peanut butter and jelly. Much
better. Than, tonight I had an idea, toast it! I will tell you it made all the difference in the world.
Toasted, it tastes very good.

Review of Schar Classic Gluten Free White Bread-Texture

As I said above, this is a very dry bread. So dry in fact, that you have to be very careful removing
from package to avoid breaking. The texture is a bit thicker than most are used to in bread and heavy
as well. As long as you use a topping, like with the Glutino crackers its OK. Also, as stated above,
toasting makes a huge differance. The size of the slices are very small in comparison to regular
bread. It makes a good open faced sandwich though.

Review of Schar Classic Gluten Free White Bread-Nutrition Information

A serving size is just one slice, so good thing it makes a good open faced sandwich! That srving has
seventy calories, fifteen from fat. Total carbohydrates is twelve grams. There is zero cholesterol, but
one hundred and thirty mg of sodium. Like all food, it is a good thing as long as you use moderation.

Review of Schar Classic Gluten Free White Bread-Price

The package of bread is 14.1 oz and costed $4.95 at Giant grocery store. To give you a comparison,
Stroehmann's bread in the king size package is 22 oz and costed $3.19 at the same store. Despite
the price difference, the price really isn't that hefty when you're considering it is a specialty food.

Review of Schar Classic Gluten Free White Bread-Overall Review

This bread is not what you think of when you hear "classic white bread" as the package states.
Once you get over this fact, and experiment a little with it, you will find it tastes good. It is definitly
better than the alternative-no bread. As I try different Gluten Free brands, I will be able to see the
differences and report them. Overall, I would reccomend this product to celiac sufferers and Gluten
intolerant people.

It turns out a friend of ours is going through some medical problems, and even though he's not sure he has an allergy, he's trying to go gluten-free. I'll try to pass reviews like this one on to him.
