My oldest got this kit as a birthday gift and man is really awesome. The Ice Cream Kit from Scientific Explorer is your do it yourself ice cream maker without the ice cream maker. It includes three flavors - vanilla, strawberry and cocoa power, all the measuring tools and a lab chart. Kids can create their own colors, flavors and invent new ones. My son created blue chocolate ice cream.

There are also science experiments you and your child can do to see how water freezes. Is just ice alone cold enough to freeze water or is salt and ice better? So your child is learning as well as playing scientist. You will also learn something new too.

The recipe is simple to follow - milk, sugar, flavoring and food coloring and you are on your way. Now the fun starts, you can use a t-shirt or a pillow case as the ice cream machine. The best part no matter what color the ice cream is the T-shirt or pillowcase stays spotless. I could not ask for a better science experiment.
