Review of Scot Lewis School of Cosmetology

Shannon Dee
Scot Lewis Schools are a division of Paul Mitchell and a partner school of the International Dermal Institute. They offer students the opportunity to get training in skin care, nail care and hair care. Students may attend Scot Lewis Schools part-time or full-time and financial aid is available to those who qualify.

School Specific Information:
Scot Lewis Schools offer their students the assurance of a thorough education based on excellence. Every aspect of a students future career in the field of cosmetology is covered in their training, nothing is left out. Scot Lewis Schools are definitely a cut above the rest.

Benefits of the School:
As has already been stated but is worthy of repeating is the benefit of excellence. I cannot express this enough. I have been to other cosmetology schools and none even come close to the education that I received from the Scot Lewis School of Cosmetology.

The staff is very friendly and helpful, you are treated like a part of the family. The instructors are very knowledgeable and thorough in their teaching both in the classroom and during hands on activities. You are never left guessing what you are to be doing, they are there for you every step of the way.

Scot Lewis Schools in their strive for excellence upholds a high standard toward graduation requirements. While the state has their standards for the required amount of services to be performed before a person can become licensed, Scot Lewis upholds an even higher standard, three to four times higher than the state.

If you are looking for a school where you can sluff off and still make the grade this is not the school for you. Scot Lewis requires numerous tests throughout your training to assure you the best possible education.

My Experience with the School:
I have nothing but good things to say about the Scot Lewis School of Cosmetology. From day one I was treated with respect by a very friendly and helpful staff. I was guided along the journey by many knowledgeable instructors who where always willing to answer any questions that I had but who also upheld strict guidelines for the advancement of my education.

When I graduated from Scot Lewis Schools I was very confident to go out and find my first job as a licensed professional. With the knowledge and skills that I learned at Scot Lewis I was able to find a job within two weeks from my graduation. I was told during my interview that I had the skills of someone who had 20 years of experience in the industry. Now thats excellence.

I am very proud to say that I attended Scot Lewis Schools and I highly recommend them if you are looking for a career in cosmetology, estheology or nail technology.

Things that I like/dislike about the School:
I liked everything about the Scot Lewis School of Cosmetolgy. One thing some may not find attractive about Scot Lewis Schools is the tuition. The tuition to attend the schools is pretty high, I would say it is probably higher than most private schools. It would not have been possible for me to attend if I would not have been able to get financial aid and also a private loan cosigned by my step-father.

Looking back on my decision to attend the Scot Lewis School of Cosmetology, I do not regret it. To me it was well worth the money that I had to pay. I guess the price of excellence should be higher than the price of mediocrity.

Things I would change about the School:
The only thing that I would change about the Scot Lewis School of Cosmetology is I would like to see a school closer to where I live.
