Review of Scotch Mounting Squares for Fabric Walls

These Easy to Use Mounting Squares Will Help Dress Up Any Cubicle

Suzanne Rose
Awhile ago, I used to hang my photos and things on my cube using tape or magnets on my binder bins. However, when I relocated to a new cube, these methods would no longer work since the entire cube is covered in fabric. While tacks and pins work great for the main walls of the cube, these items won't work on the binder bins.

What are they?
Scotch Mounting Squares for Fabric Walls are tiny squares. On one side, there is an adhesive, and on the other side there is a non-sticky, bumpy material. It's kind of like the other half of a Velcro piece, but much smaller. They come in a set of 35 squares on a sheet.

How are they used?
The adhesive side is basically like tape. You peel a square off the sheet, and place the sticky side onto your paper. Once you have your squares on your paper, simply press it onto a fabric wall and it stays! Just like that.

The best practice is to put a square on all four corners of the paper, even with 4x6 photos! I had used just 2 squares on a 4x6 photo, but what I found was the corners of the photos started to bend over time as I opened and closed my binder bins. Alternatively, I've had no problems with the photos where I put the squares in each corner.

How well do they work?
These squares work great! The first time I put them up, I was worried they would just fall off after a few days. However I have since had photos and papers hung up for months and they all are still staying strong, with the exception of a few corners folding over as mentioned above.

Alternatively, I have some things held by thumbnails on my walls. These things fall often! The vibration of people walking by causes the thumb tacks to slowly fall out, but these mounting squares stay put.

Are they removable?
The answer is YES! First of all, the papers can be peeled off the wall and rearranged as many times as you want. The fabric side of the square never seems to get old or ruined. I pull them off often to rearrange them as much as I want and they still grip fine with each move.

As far as taking them off the paper, they are technically removable, but come off of photo paper much easier than regular paper. It does take some force to pull them off, especially if they've been there for awhile. Also, you probably won't be able to reuse them after taking them off because they aren't as sticky after being peeled.

Overall
Scotch Mounting Squares are a great addition to any workplace. Obviously, they are made for and work for cubicles that are made of fabric. In an office or at home, you probably won't find much use for them - unless you have fabric walls there! If thumb tacks don't work well on your cubicle walls, try these fabric squares for items you plan to leave there for awhile. Enjoy!!

They are easier than thumbtacks for things that you leave up all the time. I find some of my thumbtacks fall out every so often but these never fall. Enjoy :)
