Review of Scunci's Design Weaver Hair Styling Kit

I recently purchased a Scunci design weaver hair styling kit. Scunci's design weaver hair styling kit costs approximately $6 depending on where it is purchased. The scunci design weaver hair styling kit contains the design weaver tool and four long strips of brightly colored and thin mesh like material meant for weaving through hair styles such as braids.

I was immediately disappointed when I opened scunci's design weaver kit and saw that each strip of fabric included in the hair styling kit is a different color. One black, one teal, one magenta and one purple strip of fabric is included in scunci design weaver hair styling kit. The narrow strips are extremely long measuring roughly 3 feet. The scunci design weaver kit gives you a lot of length to work with each strip of fabric. However since there is only one of each color it makes it difficult to use the scunci design weaver kit on hair styles that involve dual braids. Unless you're willing to take a punky Brewster approach to your hair you'll have to get a little creative if you want to use the scunci design weaver kit on dual hair styles.

I remedied the above problem by cutting each of the four fabric strips in half. If you have short to medium length hair half of one of the strips will be long enough to weave through a braid allowing you to have matching colors on each side of your hair style. If you have longer hair or would just like to switch up the colors offered in the scunci design weaver kit you can mix the colors by tying halves of the strips to each other. You can then use the scunci design weaver tool to weave multi-colored matching strips of fabric through each side of your hair style.

I really liked the scunci design weaver tool included in the kit. It allows you to keep a firm grip on the fabric strips making it easier to weave the fabric through hair. It is also very narrow and slides through hair well allowing you to weave fabric through intricate hair designs. However, before you use the scunci design weaver kit make sure you have brushed your hair really well because both the scunci design weaver tool and the fabric included in the kit will snag on any snarls present in your hair.

In addition to weaving the fabric provided in the scunci design weaver kit through various hair styles, the fabric and tool in the kit can be used to bring new life to your old hair accessories. The fabric can easily be wound around hair style accessories such as headbands and stretchy hair combs.

I recommend the scunci design weaver kit to anyone who enjoys being creative with their hair and wants a versatile hair accessory that they will get a lot of use out of. I won't need to buy a new kit anytime soon since I only need one design weaver tool. However if I ever lose or break the tool I will replace it quickly. I'd also be interested in purchasing just the fabric for the kit, particularly if scunci offered a package of fabric that included colors not in the kit.
