I was surprised when I started the game because it was beautifully put together. It begins with a small intro explaining that the Witch Crow has prevented the new year from coming by capturing the Month Sons and Daughters, like Son January. It is then up to the player to find and release them through matching games and hidden object puzzles.
The hidden object puzzles are relatively easy to complete. However, there is hints that can be used if the player becomes stuck. Unlike many hidden object puzzles, each puzzle contains only one type of item but there are ten of that item.
The matching puzzles are more difficult to describe. Instead of matching three or more identical gems or blocks and having the match simply disappear, matches are broken into bits and the adjacent blocks are busted open. The boards are creatively made with blocks of twisted vines, ice cubes and other types that need broken by breaking the adjacent blocks to bits. Once broken these blocks show the gem that they was hiding inside.
The creator of Season Match- Curse of the Witch Crow has delightfully made the storyline not just an excuse for the puzzles but has made the story an integral part of the game. A player can't miss the fantasy involved with freeing the Month Son and Daughters and bringing about the new year.
I was also pleased with the game's sound. It was filled with the sounds of nature such as water running in a stream, birds chirping and so on. The relaxing sounds sets a player far from everyday life and further into the fantasy of the Season Match- Curse of the Witch Crow pc game.
I think anyone would love this game, not just puzzle lovers, although very young children might find this game difficult. Still, since this game is focused on the months, seasons and the weather, it could be quite a learning fame for slightly older children.
Season Match- Curse of the Witch Crow has a Pagan feel to it that some might find offensive. Other than that, there is no reason not to fall in love with Season Match- Curse of the Witch Crow.
Season Match- Curse of the Witch Crow is available through Big Fish Games.
