Review: Shout Ultra Gel with Stain Lifting Brush

Jamie Burke
With a husband who works a dirty job and a son who just plain likes to get dirty, my laundry is usually going to have stains. I found a stain remover that gets those stains out - Shout Ultra Gel with Stain Lifting Brush. I've always liked to use Shout products, but when they came out with this one, I knew I had to try it.

My son likes to get down and dig for worms a lot. So, his jeans usually are brown from dirt or green from grass. If I use this product the first time it goes into the wash, I can usually eliminate the stain completely. My husband on the other hand, grinds that dirt in as he works the backhoe or builds a new lake wall, and that stain can be harder to get out. He comes home a lot with rust on his jeans. The Shout lightens the stain, but won't remove it all the way. I haven't found anything yet that will get it all the way out. But by far, this product has proven to work the best on those tough stains.

Blood is another stain that Shout works great on. With the lifting brush, I can squeeze out the amount of gel that I need for the stain, then scrub it. The combination of the gel and the brush work hard to lift and remove all of the nasty stain. Sometimes, I let the Shout sit on the stain after I've scrubbed it and that helps to ensure that the stain will come out. I never let it sit more than a couple of hours, though, before I put it in the wash.

Grease stains seem to find their way to my clothes and with the Shout gel, I don't have to worry quite so much about getting them out. Of course, all stains are removed easier if you treat them the first time they go into the laundry. Once you've washed and dried, the stain is pretty much permament. That's why it's important to use the Shout Gel with the lifting brush before you ever put the soiled clothes in the wash.

Another good use I've found for the Shout Gel is in the car. We've had ketchup spills or other yucky messes and if the stain is allowed to sit for a while before I can get it cleaned up, it's really hard to get out. With the Shout Gel, I just apply it to the carpet or the cloth seat, let it sit for a minute or two, then use a damp wash cloth to scrub it out. I've never had it fail at cleaning up my car. This is a great product and I recommend you try it for your daily stains.
