Six Flags America in Largo, MD is an excellent amusement park. It has something for everyone. The roller coasters are awesome, and the water park has grown over the years. There are a few attractions here that are my favorites. I am a bit of a thrill seeker, always looking for the best roller coasters and water slides. The Superman roller coaster is one of the best I have ever ridden. I especially like the big drop at the beginning- it is straight down and you feel like your stomach falls out. I wouldn't advise eating right before getting on this ride. THe joker's jinx is my second favorite coaster here. It is smaller, but shoots you out of the place very fast at the beginning and maintains a good speed throughout, with lots of turns. Third is a newer ride, two-face, the flip-side. This coaster is just crazy and has you looping all over the place. I did not like the batwing, which most people love. Even being the daredevil that I am, this ride to me jerks you around too much. I had a pretty bad headache after this, and the next two times I visited the park, I avoided this ride.

As for the water park, I have to admit that I love this part of the park! My favorite is the wave pool. There is an area where you can sit and just relax, where they also serve pizza and other fast foods such as chicken fingers. Then, there is a lounging area to lay out and catch some rays. This is a great area for parents while kids are playing in the wave pool. A new ride, the tornado, wasn't my favorite. You start out with up to six or eight persons in a huge innertube, and you are cascaded downhill and then swish back and forth up the sides of a large funnel, until you reach the water below. It wasn't that fast, and I prefer the faster water rides. However, I must say that there is a slide that goes almost straight down which I don't suggest. Each time you cross over where two parts of the slide link together, there is a hump, and my back caught on these and left some pretty serious red marks. All the other water slides are great! I even like the oldest ones, the red, blue, green and yellow ones to the right of the wave pool. They aren't real fast, or real slow, but it's enjoyable to ride the raft down to the bottom and plunge into the pool. I like this one because you can avoid getting water in your face until the bottom.

As for other attractions, there are many games and rides for children, if you are the family going type. Parents could probably leave teenagers here without too much problem. If you plan to climb the rock wall, bring closed-toe shoes. I had on sandals and they wouldn't let me on this ride! I was hugely disappointed.
Why do I love this park so? First, there are many ways to get discount coupons to get in. First, most seasons you get a huge discount if you take a can of coke with you that is offering the six flags discount on it. The website offers specials. Finally, you can use the abc7 bonus book for maryland and pennsylvania. This offers two-for-one tickets for admission. The park also hosts many concerts. You can join team six from the website, and get sent emails of concerts and other events. The concerts are held by the wave pool. The park has enough cool attractions that you can visit more than once in a summer and not get bored. The roller coasters are top-notch for any in the country! (And believe me, I am very picky when it comes to roller coasters.) There are many new water rides in the hurricane harbor water park! Six Flags is definitely worth checking out!
