What you need is a weekend getaway...a family getaway! I know you are thinking to yourself...what I need is a trip away from it all...not with it all! Believe it or not, taking a family vacation will be just as relaxing if you plan it correctly! You need to choose an all inclusive resort that offers family amenities and I seriously recommend bringing along a babysitter!
Do you have a niece or nephew that is old enough to keep the kids occupied and maybe baby sit a few times? I'm sure he/she would be grateful to go on vacation for free and wouldn't worry too much about being paid!
Pick a weekend that you have nothing else planned and book a weekend getaway at the Six Flags Great Escape Lodge. Your kids will thank you and your husband will love you for thinking of it!
Just over three hours north of New York City, the Six Flags Great Escape Lodge offers an indoor water park, called White Water bay, the Great Escape Amusement Park, a day spa, four different snack bars, and restaurants, as well as the Tall Tales Tavern.
The kids can get a little Looney with the Looney Toon characters including, Bugs, Sylvester, Daffy, Tweedy, Taz and more! The character team offers Brunch with Bugs, Meet and Greet all of the characters, Tea with Tweedy, Sundaes with Sylvester, and much more!
They can play for hours in the water park where there are slides, pools, boogie boarding, and the tree house. While the kids are running around the park with the sitter, mom and dad can relax in the Soakum Springs which is a warm water spa for adults only.
Send the kids downstairs to the arcade and Mom and Dad can have a relaxing dinner at the Trappers Adirondack Grille or a great time hanging out at the Tall Tales Tavern, then go back up to the spa for a rest and relaxation period before bed.
Then back in your comfortable Adirondack suite, you can put the kids to bed and go relax in your own private "bed room".
All and all the Great Escape Lodge is a really great place for a family weekend getaway! They have everything you need for two days filled with fun without you ever having to leave the grounds!

Post a CommentThe Great Escapes was much more less than subpar. First the hotel was consistently cold, something that was hard to accept given it was a waterpark in the dead of winter (outside temperature was 20 degrees F). The Internet did not work throughout the entire hotel. The food was very fair. They premeir Johnny Rockets as a restuarant - McDonald's Type Hamburgers. My room had a broken door and carpeting that was coming up at the seams. The hotel styaff denied any problems. For example they said the entire hotel was set at 75 degrees. It was down right cold around the hotel. It was more expensive than Great Wolf Loudge. Greta Wolf much better and professionally run.
