Review of Skinny Cow Dreamy Clusters

Candy Clusters Available in Milk Chocolate and Dark Chocolate

Eliza Wynn

After seeing the commercials for Skinny Cow Dreamy Clusters many times, I finally decided to try them. I'm glad I did.

The Skinny Cow product line is from Nestle. Originally, I thought these candies probably contained sucralose, which I avoid. When I finally remembered to check out the ingredients, I learned that they don't contain sucralose after all. That's when I decided to give them a try.

Out of the four varieties of candy available, the milk chocolate Dreamy Clusters appealed to me the most, so that's what I bought. A box costs $3.99 at my local store and contains six easy-to-open pouches, with a pouch being a serving. The one-ounce pouches contain five or six tiny clusters; most of the ones I've had so far contained five.

According to the packaging, Skinny Cow Dreamy Clusters contain "crunchy crisps." Before I tried this product, and even after I ate my first serving of them, I thought the crisps were rice. I was wrong; examining the candy after taking a bite, I saw what looked like a pretzel bit. That's exactly what it was.

Skinny Cow Dreamy Clusters are small but satisfying servings of chocolate-covered caramel clusters. Are they truly "dreamy," or is that just the name? Personally, I don't think of any food as being dreamy. However, these are delicious. I like chocolate-covered pretzels, and I like caramel clusters. The caramel in these clusters is chewy enough to add to the product's satisfaction but soft enough that it doesn't get stuck in my teeth. This product is definitely a winner!

Each serving of the milk chocolate clusters contains 120 calories, with 50 calories from fat. The total fat content is 6g, with 3.5g being saturated fat; there is no trans fat in this product. A serving also contains 5mg cholesterol, 155mg sodium, and 1g protein. In addition, there are 10g total carbohydrates, including 3g fiber and 10g sugars. The clusters are sweetened with sugar and maltitol; they also contain soy, dairy, and wheat.

The dark chocolate clusters have similar nutritional content but have less sodium and sugars.

Skinny Cow Dreamy Clusters are a satisfying sweet snack that I'll definitely buy again. In fact, I've already purchased two more boxes. My husband and I both like milk chocolate, but he prefers dark chocolate candy, so after giving this product the thumbs-up, we also bought a box of the dark chocolate clusters for him to try. He likes them even better.
