At Skipper's you can eat almost any sea food you can imagine. They have some good grilled Salmon dishes that come with a baked potato and steamed vegetables like cauliflower and carrots and broccoli as well as garlic toast. You can get a plate like this for around 8.00 dollars.
This restaurant also makes darn good fried fish. I love to get their fried fish and shrimp baskets. They come with fries and Cole slaw and I might add some of the best tasting Cole slaw I've ever eaten. This restaurant also serves grilled shrimp for those of you watching your calories and fat intake.
Do you love fried clams? Well Skipper's deep fries them to a light golden brown and I've never had clams that taste this good. They even offer a few menu items for kid's with smaller portion's. I love their fried chicken as well. They use some kind of great seasoning because the chicken is very tasty and tender.
They make chicken and fish sandwiches at Skippers and some of the most amazing tasting home made clam chowder you'll ever eat. They also offer an all you can eat special each night so just ask what the specials are when you visit.
Their fried halibut is so good that you will not want to quit eating it. You can order it plain or get a combination platter with either fried prawns or bite size shrimp and it comes with fries and Cole slaw and hush puppies. They do offer grilled chicken and grilled halibut as well as grilled salmon for those that like grilled.
if you want to just have something smaller might I suggest you try their fish bites. They are smaller bites of fried Halibut and served with nothing but fries. All of Skipper's dishes are affordable usually costing around 5.00 to 8.00 dollars each.
They have many location's so you may wish to log into their web site for other location's if your traveling and want to try them at their other location's as well. Their site is www.skippers.net and I can honestly say they have some great food at their restaurant.
When visiting their web site you can look up all of the nutritional information on each item they sale. Another reason I love Skipper's, because you know before you order how many calories your eating and the fat or salt that is prepared making it.
They are located at 1465 W. 6th Street in The Dalles, Oregon 97058 and their number is 541-296-1327. So if your passing through and want great seafood stop on by or use their easy drive through service.
