Review: Slide N Splash Whale Pool by Banzai

Not Bad for Young Children in the Warm Weather Months, but Won't Last More Than One Season

Sometimes parents are disappointed with water toys they purchase for their young children because they place expectations too high for the toy. That was the case I had with the Slide N Splash Whale Pool by Bonzai. I was thinking when I purchased this Slide N Splash Whale Pool by Bonzai it would last one or two summer seasons at the least. I was disappointed when it barely made it into this spring after purchasing it last Spring. Yet, when I look at the enjoyment my child and his friends had with the Slide N Splash Wale Pool by Bonzai during that time it was worth the $20 purchase price.

The Slide N Splash Whale Pool by Bonzai consists of two parts even though it is actually just one large inflatable toy. The pool and slide combined with the Slide N Splash Whale Pool by Bonzai is approximately six feet long and two feet high. The slide itself is four and a half feet long and 2 feet high. As you can see this does not leave a lot of room for the pool part of the Slide N Splash Whale Pool by Bonzai. This isn't a major issue though as it is not really meant to serve as a pool as much as a way to cool off in the spring and summer months. The pool portion of the Slide N Splash Whale Pool by Bonzai actually only holds about 10 inches of water, so you can probably guess the kids can't swim in it.

The slide for the Slide N Splash Whale Pool by Bonzai has inflatable steps to make it possible for your young children to climb onto the slide without having you lift them up to the top all the time. I highly recommend close parental supervision though as the steps can get slippery as water gets on them. Speaking of water, the slide itself sometimes has an issue with not being wet enough to slide down. This is common with the Banzai water toys. My suggestion is keeping a bucket nearby and taking a bucket of water and pouring it down the slide every four to five trips down the slide.

My recommendation for this Slide N Splash Whale Pool by Bonzai a far as age groups would be for three to five year olds. Younger kids can play on it, but I wouldn't recommend having them climbing the stairs to the top of the pool. As I mentioned the steps get slippery and kids that age are just learning to climb steps comfortably to begin with. At $20 it is probably worth the money, just realize when you buy it that you will probably only get one spring-summer season's use out of the Slide N Splash Whale Pool by Bonzai before it starts to have leaks or is torn by normal wear and tear.

  • Slide N Splash Whale Pool only holds about 10 inches of water.
  • The slide gets dry at times, so I suggest pouring a bucket of water down every 4-5 rides.
  • This toy has a lifetime of about one season before leaks and tears appear.
Due to the fact that the steps to the slide can get very slippery, I recommend parental supervision while using this toy. That is standard though with any pool or water toy due to risks to young children.
