Review of The Soho Cobblestone 2-PC Sectional from Value City Furniture
This Sectional Suits My Family Perfectly!
When we bought our house, my mom offered to buy our sofa as our wedding gift. The house had a combined living room / dining room so we wanted to try to fit both a sofa and a dining room table. I instantly knew that a traditional soda set would not work for our room and went out shopping for sectionals. This way I could put the sofa up against the two walls in the room and the rest of the floor would remain open. There were many options for sectionals, but the Soho Cobblestone 2 piece Sectional was the one that seemed like it could fit the most people in the smallest amount of space.
With the matching ottoman, this sofa can pretty much be used as a bed. I can't tell you how many times one of us, or both of us, have fallen asleep on this sofa. The chaise is perfect for me, but my husband fits on it well too (just with his feet hanging off a little). The sofa portion is the size of any regular sofa. Anyone who's ever taken a nap or spent the night on our sofa has commented on how comfortable it was. Pressing the ottoman snuggly against the sofa gives our guests plenty of room to spread out.
The back and bottom pillows are soft and comfy with the only downside being that over the years some of them are getting flatter. However a repair man told us we could just buy any extra stuffing we want and stuff it into the pillows to fill them back up. We plan to do this soon and continue doing this as long as we can to stretch out the life of the sofa.
The suede microfiber is soft and doesn't make us warm like leather or some other materials would. The sofa came with a spot cleaning kit for cleaning spills and it really works well. There have been a few stains I found on the sofa and the kit cleans them up quickly and easily. You can't even see where the spills and stains were. The Cobblestone color is a light tan which means it may more easily show stains than a darker color. Even so, we have managed to keep our sofa looking like new after 3 years. Oftentimes I will cover the ottoman with a sheet to avoid it getting dirty from shoes or food that was set out.
Overall the best reason to buy this sectional sofa is because of the space it provides! We can easily sit 10 people on this couch and have during family gatherings many times. We usually move the ottoman out of the room when we have a party because it takes up a lot of space. Many sectionals have separations in between seats such as drink holders or armrests. These sections may appear comfy, with each person getting their own lazy boy, but it really prevents you from laying down or squeezing in a lot of people!
After 3 years of owning this furniture, we had to have it repaired once this year. Of course it broke right after the 3 year warranty ran out! Value City was kind enough to fix it for free since our warranty had only ended a month or two before we called. The back snapped one day and basically just needed some additional wood support. The repair man told us that the reason this furniture only costs $700-800 is because they intend for you to replace it every 3-5 years. Well my husband and I are good at making things stretch and see no reason to replace our sofa anytime soon! We watched the repair man fix the back brace and saw it was very easy because all he did was add additional wood support. So if needed we will repair it ourselves next time before replacing this sofa. Furniture can last as long as you want it to, all you have to do is take care of it.
I'd choose the Soho Cobblestone 2 piece sectional anyday, and I just might buy it again someday when we finally decide this one has to go. Value City Furniture still sells this same sofa so it must be a popular product. The Soho sectional also comes in beige, celery and red.

Post a CommentWe got something veeeeeeeerrrrrrry similar to this, but it was a Simmons from BigLots. Looks almost exactly the same though; fabric, ottoman, chaise, etc. We love ours!
Thanks, it goes well in our living room and is the place I'm sitting at most every evening :)
It looks very nice. :)
