Review: Split Second Video Game Delivers at Full Speed

Sometimes it can be hard to tell whether a video game will deliver based on the promotional demonstration of the game. In this economy when things are tough and money is tight, it is better to wait for reviews of a video game before you decide to go out and spend your money on it. There have been many video games released in the past month that you might be thinking of buying and of those games, Split Second is definitely a game to check out. If you like racing games and are looking for a great adventure with great scenery and action then Split Second should be a video game that you consider buying this year. If you have thought about buying Split Second then you might want to check out this review to see if it is worth it to spend your money on it.

Split Second is a video game that was released May 18, 2010 and was created by Black Rock Studio. Split Second is being released for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and the PC providing you with the opportunity for a great racing game no matter which platform you prefer. Split Second is available for purchase at most retail stores or game stores for about 60dollars for the console versions and 30 dollars for the PC version. You can also get Split Second online at most Internet retail stores such as Amazon and the price is virtually the same you would pay in the store. Split Second is a video game that is based on racing and is a highly adventurous game filled with obstacles and missions. The action in Split Second is similar to the style of racing you would find in an arcade and it is filled with fast-paced racing as well as beautiful scenery. Split Second is a video game that revolves around racing within a global reality-television show and that plays into the goal of the game. In Split Second the goal is to become the first one to cross the finish line which would make you the champion for that season within the fake reality show. It is filled of stunts and crashes similar to what you would see in a Hollywood movie and it is really designed to play off of the graphically-intense situations.

You can take out your opponent with the hit of a button which will cause an explosion and totally destroy their car which is also called power-plays. The tracks are very unique and provide you with intense situations and obstacles you have to drive around in order to stay alive during the game. The whole course is filled with triggers and various explosive devices that you can either use to your advantage or you can become the target of the trap. This video game is really fun because it is a low-level style of racing game which means you do not have to be very skilled in racing games to have fun with the game. You can also set up some alternate routes and shortcuts to make your chances of becoming the champion even better and you can alter the routes within the game to suite your needs. All of the cars within the game perform very well and even do sliding and drifting similar to the Burnout game series. The cars are very fast and all maneuver the roads with ease and power and controlling them is very easy without too much hassle. One great thing about Split Second is the ability for the game to have up to 8 people playing in the online mode of the game and the ability for a split-screen in the two-player mode. If you have Internet access then this is really a must-have racing game because it is really fun playing against other people online and seeing how badly you can wreck their car.

This game is really a game you can get into even if you have never played a racing game before but it is still very entertaining for the advanced racing gamer out there. This game is filled with so much action and intensity that there is really no other way to describe it except adventurous and entertaining. The game is very good quality and the graphics are designed top-notch to provide the best gaming performance possible. The design and layout of the tracks are very fun and entertaining and provide you with something different on each track. One thing about Split Second is the music, which is not really the best. The music in Split Second sounds too much like a television show and less like an actual style of music you would be playing in a racing game. Also sometimes the stunts and things you do on the track feel a little off-balance like you are going to wreck. The curves sometimes will get you even when you think you have cleared them and that can be a bit frustrating. Overall, Split Second is a very good racing game and should definitely be a game you buy if you like racing games, action games or the ability to race against people in online mode. This game handles very well and is one of the best racing games I have ever played being I am not really into racing games that much. Split Second is a must-have video game for any racing enthusiast and is a really great game for the 60 dollars you will spend. Truly an epic game for someone looking to get into racing for the first time or someone looking to just blow things up all day long.
