A low cost machine that helps you get a good cardiovascular workout during the winter months is the Stamina Body Trac Glider 1050 Rowing Machine. Depending on how you use your machine, you can also concentrate on just your arms and legs with Stamina Body Trac Glider 1050 Rowing Machine.
The Stamina Body Trac 1050 Rowing Machine is an inexpensive alternative to other treadmills and other exercise machines. In addition, it compact design and quiet operation allow you to use the rowing machine even when you are enjoying America's favorite pastime: Watching TV.
Assembly of the Stamina Body Trac Glider Rowing Machine
If you purchase your Stamina Body Trac Glider Rowing Machine on line, it will arrive in a rather large box that weighs just under 40 pounds. The rowing exercise machine arrives disassembled. There is a full set of instructions for putting the machine together. Be sure to leave yourself some floorspace to lay out the parts. The instructions are easy to understand and well illustrated. Assembling the Stamina Body Trac Glider 1050 Rowing Machine took about a half an hour.
Exercising with the Stamina Body Trac Glider Rowing Machine
The Body Trac Rowing machine has a tensioner that allows you to adjust the resistance of the rower. There is a piston that provides the resistance with an adjustable knob to set the resistance. The knob is well labeled, and the higher the number you set the knob, the greater the resistance. By using the tension setting, you could either shoot for a cardiovascular workout with lower resistance, or look for more strength training by using a higher resistance.
Cons of the Stamina Body Trac Glider 1050 Rowing Machine
Overall this unit has performed well. It is easy to stowaway in an upright position. I occasionally row with the unit while watching television to help get some needed exercise and the Stamina Body Trac Glider 1050 Rowing Machine offers a comfortable sitting position to watch the television. The pedals for the feet rest are quite large on this exercise rowing machine, and there is a set of sturdy Velcro straps to help keep your feet in place. You should wear a pair of sneakers when using the Stamina Body Trac Glider 1050 Rowing Machine to help keep your feet in the proper position.
Some reviewers on Amazon complained that oil may leak from the lower piston, and recommend placing a newspaper below the unit. In two years of occasional use of this rowing machine, I have not seen any oil leak from the rowing machine.
The Stamina Body Trac Glider 1050 Rowing machine can be purchased for about $150 from Amazon.com
