The Staples Center is the Mecca of sports in Los Angeles. There is no other facility in the area that can even compete. With a building cost of over $370 million, it became the most expensive to build arena in the world.
Another notable feature of the Staples Center is that it is located just off one of the most frequently driven highways in the world. This makes access very simple, but can also cause quite a traffic problem before and after events. If you are going to an event, make sure to plan enough time for travel if you are being transported by a vehicle.
The sheer size of the Staples Center is something to be admired. The arena is very big and seats just about 20,000 spectators for a basketball game and about a thousand less for hockey games. Seating is certainly not a problem for any of the events at the Staples Center.
The pricing of the seats at the Staples Center is something to cringe at, however. A ticket to an event there is known to be very expensive, especially for Los Angeles Lakers games. Taking a family to a game can cost well over $150 and adding food prices to this can cause quite a dent in the bank account. Even seats on the cheaper side are anywhere from $40-$50 each. Though seats are expensive, the view from any section of the Staples Center will be a quality one. Even the "worst" seats in the arena will provide an above average view.
Another amazing feature of the Staples Center is the fact that the arena supports three professional sports teams. The Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers of the NBA play home games there as well as the L.A Kings of the NHL. Many arenas manage two teams but three takes an incredible amount of timing and scheduling.
The Staples Center lacks nothing in the concessions department. With 23 concession areas throughout the arena, there are plenty of places to get a bite to eat or something to drink.
Some other quality features of the Staples Center are the 1,200 television screens throughout the arena, multiple restaurants, an eight sided score and video board, and many more.
The Staples Center is clearly one of the top venues to take in a sporting event or concert in not only the United States, but in the world. Be prepared to dish out quite a bit of money, but also to have a great time in an amazing facility.
