Review: Stash Licorice Spice Herbal Tea

A Great Herbal Tea to Pick You Up in the Afternoon

Tony Payne
Practically everyone that I have told about Stash Licorice Spice Herbal Tea has looked in horror with a mental image of a thick sticky black cup of tea that tastes like a stick of licorice.

This mental image could not be further from the truth, as you will find if you give Stash Licorice Spice Herbal Tea a try.

PRICE AND AVAILABILITY

At a price around $2.00 - $2.50 for a packet of 20 tea bags (which works out at $0.10 per cup), this is a good price for a good cup of tea.

You can find Stash teas at many grocery stores in the USA, including Target and Walmart, as well as in many Health Food and specialized tea shops.

Stash teas are also available online on a number of sites, including Stash Teas and Amazon.

To obtain the full flavor of Stash Licorice Spice Herbal Tea:

1. Bring fresh water to a rolling boil.
2. Pour the water directly over the tea bag in a pre-heated cup or teapot.

PRODUCT REVIEW

This is definitely one of those herbal teas that you can't just turn your nose up at and say "Oh no, I wouldn't like that".

The first step to convincing anybody that this is not going to be a thick black sticky cup of licorice, is to open the sealed packet and to have them sniff it.

How to describe the aroma of Stash Licorice Spice Herbal Tea? It's like being in an Indian or Middle Eastern restaurant with the air filled with the sweet smell of assorted spices. Maybe it's like a wonderful scented cinnamon and clove candle that reminds you of the scent of Fall, Pumpkin Pie and Thanksgiving.

On first tasting Stash Licorice Spice Herbal Tea the blend of Licorice, Cinnamon, Cardamom and Clove is rich and sweet. With Licorice being 50 times sweeter than sugar cane, you get an almost instant energy boost, which is great on a long day at work when you begin to flag in mid-afternoon.

I haven't yet tried this as an after dinner drink, but it would be a different way to treat dinner guests, especially on a wintry evening.

Served as an iced tea, the full flavor and natural sweetness make a pleasant change from iced black or green tea.

PRODUCT RATING

Price: 5 stars. At around $0.10 it doesn't break the bank. This is the sort of tea that you might enjoy mid afternoon, or after dinner

Packaging: 4 stars. I only rated this lower than 5 because it's not always easy to get the bag out of the auto dispense flap..

Ease Of Use: 5 stars. Making a cup of herbal tea couldn't be easier.

Taste: 5 stars. I love the taste. It's rich and sweet and hits the spot.

Green: 5 stars. The packing is minimal and also recyclable.

Overall Rating: 5 stars. This Stash tea is a great product.

RATING SCALE

5 stars - outstanding
4 stars - good
3 stars - average
2 stars - below average
1 star - poor

I can't get this in the UK unfortunately, and ran out of what I brought back from Florida in August months ago. I will definitely be bringing back more on my next trip.

Nice format for this review. I don't think I've ever seen this brand in the stores, but if I find it, I'd like to give it a try.

I've long used Stash tea(s). Used to put them in our Antique Teacup baskets. But licorice? Admittedly it does sound gross.

Not sure you've convinced me to try licorice tea, but I want to compliment you for the nice review format your article is in. It's well organized and easy to read, and it includes all the info anybody interested in this tea would want.

Hmmmm, I am not a fan of licorice at all, so I am not sure that I could go out on a limb and try this one!
