I've had plenty of skillet saute dinners like this in the past and, because of that, I honestly wasn't expecting too much from it. I figured it would be OK. But, I also expected it to lack any real quality and, more importantly, not have a lot of quantity since most dinners for two barely have enough for two servings.
However, I have to admit, this product really surprised me.
First of all, like most skillet dinners, this was relatively easy to make compared to a lot of frozen dinners. There were only a couple of steps (which was mostly adding the contents of the bag to a skillet) and the dinner was done in about 10 minutes. This was much faster than quite a few other dinners we've purchased in the past. In fact, I think it took my wife longer to make the salad to go with it.
As far as taste goes, I had no complaints. The saute had plenty of meat in it (rather than just a few pieces, like with many other skillet dinners) and everything had a decent flavor to it. I don't think it was as good as something you could get in a restaurant or even something made from scratch. But, the quality was more than acceptable considering how easy this was to make.
What really impressed me though was the quantity. As I said before, most dinners for two don't offer quite enough food to provide a filling meal. That was not the case this time. We didn't have leftovers. But, we did have enough for seconds and would have had our hunger satisfied by this even without the salad. I'm not sure how much my wife paid for this, but that alone would make it worth the money, even without the quality I mentioned before.
Needless to say, I am very happy with this purchase. The next time I'm looking for an easy dinner for two for my wife and me, I will search for this (or another Stouffer's Sautes for Two variety); even if it means spending a bit more money.
