Review: Sun Shade Boat by Aqua Leisure

Not Even Worth it for Free

The Baby Adjustable Sun Shade Boat which is marketed for infants is not even worth trying if you get it for free as a gift. It is pooly made and overall just not a lot of fun for your infant child. Safety is always the first concern when choosing a floatation device for your child, and it is true that the Baby Adjustable Sun Shade Boat by Aqua Leisure will keep your child comfortably safe and afloat in the pool. The safety level of infant floatation devices has improved so much in recent years though for pool use during the spring and summer months that the enjoyment the child has in the pool floatation device becomes a deciding factor.

Overall the Baby Adjustable Sun Shade Boat just isn't any fun for your child. At least it wasn't for my infant child when we tried this floatation device out as one of his first pool floatation devices. The first thing we noticed when our infant son sat in the Baby Adjustable Sun Shade Boat by Aqua Leisure was that the seat seemed to lock him in the seat almost too tightly and kept him well removed from the water. What fun is a floatation device if you can't play in the water of the pool? Well, it was clear our son wanted to play with the water and couldn't reach it. So, of course he tried to lean over to play with the water and this is when the safety of the Baby Adjustable Sun Shade Boat from Aqua Leisure concerned us. The base was tight around out son's legs, but there was no support for his upper body. As he tried to reach for the water the floatation device started to tip.

Needless to say the safety concern was enough for us to start shopping for a new floatation device for our son and remove him from the Baby Adjustable Sun Shade Boat by Aqua Leisure. We did discover well before this though that the sun shade portion of the device was completely useless. It would not stay up in the air as the picture of the floatation device showed on the box and in advertisements. It either had to sit on the back edge of the Baby Adjustable Sun Shade Boat or the front. Sitting in the front it blocked our son's view and reduced his enjoyment.

Honestly, when you look for a floatation device for your infant child safety comes first and fun second. The safety was fine as long as your child didn't actually try to have fun and play with the water. Anyone that has an infant knows that their child will want to play with the water. So in the end the Baby Adjustable Sun Shade Boat from Aqua Leisure just is not a floatation device I can recommend.

  • The Baby Adjustable Sun Shade Boat is recommended by the manufacturer for children 6-24 months old.
  • The sun shade would not stay in one position to block the sun's rays, it had to rest of the float.
  • It was safe as long as your infant doesn't want to play with the water, then the safety was lower.
With all the well made floatation devices for infants that block the sun's harmful rays under $20, there is no need to waste your money on the Baby Adjustable Sun Shade Boat by Aqua Leisure.
