This ad is golden! It hits the demographic segment everyone watching wants to be; affluent, attractive, and successful. How does it manage this?
Breaking it down into its parts:
The actors and the automobiles are beautiful to look at. (The way we all want to be.)
The music is upbeat and generic, moving quickly and efficiently forward. (The way we all want to do with our lives.)
The video clips are clean and uncomplicated, with the drivers in partnership with the automobile taking on and handling every task coming their way. (The way we want our lives to be.)
The idea is that the automobile is our friend and helper, making our lives easier. We see technology at work without the pain of having to understand the technology, but we show that we USE technology - we're hip, cool, stylish - with it. Further, we want to be in that car that cares for us. We want to drive it and we want to own it.
Cons:
The ad ignores an important demographic segment when it shows only Thirty-Something drivers.
