While researching information on the best ways to acclimate transplanted shrubs to their new surroundings with plenty of water, I saw that soaker hoses can help with the process. The purpose of a soaker hose is to evenly saturate the ground with water, adding moisture while using less water.
A garden soaker hose looks like a typical water hose except that it has a cap on the other end. Holes, also known as pores, along the hose allow the water to escape and cover a wide area of land evenly. It just depends on where you put the hose.
The Swan Soaker Hose can also be buried a few inches under the ground for a semi-permanent, yet temporary irrigation system. It won't clog. You hook the Swan Soaker Hose up to a regular water hose, which hooks up to the water spout. Turn it on and watch the water bead up along the soaker hose. The water doesn't squirt or spray so it's easy to handle and maneuver even when the water is running.
The first thing I noticed about the Swan Soaker Hose was that it was very low key regarding the holes, pores, in the hose. The holes were really small that I could barely see them. The hose is black which also allows it to blend in well on the ground of my garden. I'm able to leave the hose where it is around my shrubs and it blends in well with my mulching. The Swan Soaker Hose is made of out recycled tire rubber so it's also environmentally friendly.
Swan Soaker Hoses come in numerous lengths including 25 feet, 50 feet and 75 feet. I purchased the 75-foot soaker hose because I only saw the 25-foot and 75-foot ones available at the store. The 75-foot long hose was the better option for me. It proved to be a good choice for my garden.
The Swan Soaker Hose has a patented water restrictor to control water flow and conserve water. And it includes a seven-year warranty. It is very flexible and easy to maneuver, bend and place where you want it. The price was reasonable at $14.98.
I would recommend the Swan Soaker Hose for amateur and professional gardeners looking to get their new plants accustomed to their new surrounding. The hose really gets the ground saturated depending on how long you leave it running.
Since the Swan Soaker Hose claims to save up to 70 percent of water, you can give your plants the water they need while keeping your water bills reasonable. The guidelines for the hose come on the hose packaging so you can find the appropriate watering period for your garden.

Post a CommentI bought 5 swan 5/8 x 75 ft hoses, I almost got two seasons out of them before the splices out
numbered the water. I was most dissapointed in the peferations as at controlled pressure they all
emitted differantly.
I can’t be as enthusiastic. I purchased two Swan 75 foot hoses at Lowes and while one was good, the other had several large holes where the bulk of the water came out. I returned it and got a replacement, but it’s just as bad as the one I returned. It’s going back tomorrow. I’m looking for recommendations for a good quality hose even if it costs more
I like that it's made of recycled rubber. You're right- it's reasonably priced too. What a deal!
Good review :) Sheri
