I don't drink coffee but some of my co-workers do and keep a pretty decent selection by the office coffee pot. And, when the weather gets colder (like now), they also bring in things like tea and hot cocoa.
A couple days ago, I was over in that area (the printer is right next to the coffee pot) and noticed something different; a box of Swiss Miss Dark Chocolate Sensation Hot Cocoa. I personally don't drink stuff like that very often. But, my wife does (I usually make hot cocoa for her a couple times a week once the temperatures start dropping) and I thought it would be something she would enjoy. So, after work, I stopped at the store just to buy her a box.
As far as price goes, this hot cocoa mix wasn't any more expensive than the other varieties (which I was glad about since I didn't have a whole lot of money with me at the time). This ended up being a blessing because I don't think this hot cocoa was anything special.
Let me start out by explaining that, based both on what my wife told me and what I experienced when I tried some of this, I thought this cocoa was decent. Like other Swiss Miss products, it offers a good flavor that, while better when the cocoa is made with milk, is still tasty even when made with water. And, again, like other Swiss Miss cocoas, it is nice and thick and offers a warm, comforting feeling to offset the cold.
My only problem with this product, as I said before, is it wasn't anything special. Even after doing my best to complete her surprise by doctoring it up with a whipped cream topping, the hot cocoa didn't seem to have a flavor that was any different than any other hot cocoa. Since it was supposed to be made with dark chocolate, we both figured it would have a taste similar to that. However, neither one of us experienced that when we tried this and probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference between this and the regular hot cocoa sitting in our pantry.
Since I did find it at the same price as other Swiss Miss hot cocoa products, I would consider buying it again because, as I said before, it was as good as the others. But, I would not recommend buying this if you have to pay any more money for it because it isn't worth it.
