While the Titanic Exhibit will usually cost you about $22 per person, it is well worth the money. There are coupons for the Titanic Exhibit that you can find online, or in local magazines in Las Vegas.
The entire tour will take you anywhere from about 45 minutes to two hours. It all depends on how much time you decide to spend at each station of the tour.
Your ticket for the tour has the appearance of a boarding pass. You will notice the name of a former passenger that had taken that fateful voyage. There is a reason for your receiving of this name, this will be explained later.
During the Titanic Exhibit tour, you will see over three hundred artifacts that have been taken from under the sea from the famous wreckage. During your, "voyage," you will hear the sounds of waves, sea gulls, and a ship's bell.
You will also have the feeling that the floor is slowly swaying from one side to the other. This may cause some people to have motion sickness, so watch out!
You will find that some of the artifacts are still in the same condition that they were when they were brought up from the bottom of the ocean. This is done to show you how much work was put into restoring these items for the Titanic Exhibit.
You are not allowed to touch any of the artifacts since a careless person may harm one of the items. Many of the items are also encased in glass since the smell of the ocean water can still be strong on certain things.
One issue that I had with the tour was that each of the rooms were separated by a narrow winding hallway. These hallways were dark and gloomy. I constantly had the feeling that I was in a haunted house, and kept waiting for someone to jump out in a Jason mask. This did not happen.
At the end of your tour, you will come upon a large section of the actual hull of the ship. You will also see a large wall with the names of all of the known passengers on the Titanic. You can then take your ticket out to see if the person named on your ticket was one of the lucky ones who lived, or one of the victims of the tragedy. This can be very emotional.
I have suggested the Titanic Exhibit at the Tropicana in Las Vegas to everyone that I have known that was going to Sin City. I hope that if you go, you will enjoy it as much as I did.
